I noticed that there were a number of Game Watch Party threads for Iowa and UConn.

In my hopes of eliminating some of the redundancy and get all the information needed for fans and easily available to the CycloneFanatic Community, I thought I would start a thread for EVERYONE to post their Game Watch Information all in one central thread.

PS. Please try and be respectful of the intentions of this thread by keeping the Conversations and information on topic. I will periodically return to the thread and recompile all the posted GWParties in a reply so they are all easy to find. Thanks

Here is the First.

Kalamazoo / SW Michigan Gamewatch Party

Regardless of a party, Texas may have move up ahead of the Hawkeyes on my hate list for the time being. I really hope we destroy the Horns in our next game!!!!

We went there for the UCONN game. They didnt even have the sound on. We asked the waitress if they could turn on the sound, and even though there were a decent number of people watching the game, she said "This is a HAWK bar! Didnt you see the menu, it says "Go Hawks!"? I can go ask, but I doubt it."

That's when you order a bottle of 151 and a match.

Sounds like some emails and a boycott are in order!!

Twin Cities ISU/Texas Game Watch

Email that will go out on Monday to Twin Cities alumni:

***********************************************************

ISUAA Club of the Twin Cities: ISU vs. Texas Gamewatch at Joe Senser's Roseville

The Iowa State Cyclones host the Texas Longhorn football team in Ames on October 1. If you are not attending the game in person you can join fellow Cyclone fans at Joe Senser’s Sports Grill Roseville location for the 6:00 pm kickoff. We have the room behind the main bar reserved. The game is also available on the FX network for cable and dish subscribers.

WHAT: Informal gamewatch party for the ISU/Texas football game.

WHEN: Saturday, October 1. Game time is 6:00.

WHERE: Joe Senser's Sports Grill, 2350 Cleveland Ave, Roseville, MN 55113
Ph. (651) 631-1781.

*Overflow parking is available at the LA Fitness parking lot next door.

Game time and TV coverage have not been announced yet for the other October Cyclone football games. Watch for gamewatch emails once the times and coverage are announced.

Go Cyclones!

************************************************************

I would avoid the Senser's Bloomington location for this game since the Husker/Badger game will be on at 7:00. There is likely to be up to 300 Huskers in there. Seriously, they even have their own alumni pep band in the bar. The mix of Huskers and Badgers could be "interesting" since this will be the biggest Big 10 game of the year here in the Twin Cities. ISU/Texas will be up at all of the Senser's but the primary ISU spot will be in Roseville.

I think I would have had the whole group pick up the menu, rip it to shreds, then walk out without paying (or tipping, LOL!). Stupid *****.

They always seem to cooperate with me. I wasn't there for the UCONN game. If it isn't competing with EIU, not usually a problem. I also spend way too much time there.

So here is what I know of so far or have received. There are some major cities missing both in Iowa and around the country. Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, San Antonio, Salt Lake City and some others. Personally, I'd like a party for every town a MLB, NFL, NBA or NHL game might be played. As for Iowa, I don't mind if some of the communities are hosting Game watches if everyone will be at the game, but some of the larger cities aren't even listed as hosting game watches. So if you have some helpful info, go ahead and let me know.

None in Oklahoma?

I declare there to be an unofficial watch party in the Buffalo Wild Wings in either Tulsa or Broken Arrow on the day of that game if any other cyclone is interested.

Contact the owner, ask if you can secure a TV, contact the Alumni Association, put together a facebook event or just post it hear and hope people will come. That is how it starts.

It sounds like Tulsa and Oklahoma needs a Alumni Club anyway, put something together. No offense, but as many posts as you've made and as much as you follow ISU, it shouldn't take away too much of your productive time to help put things together in Tulsa. That is how the ISU brand grows. That is how our name gets out there to some of these kids coming from schools, cities and states you wouldn't think ISU had a presence. I've probably helped more engineers find ISU but I have helped a couple swimmers find their way to Ames and been a good resource for knowledge about the city, the community and the school.

The contact for the Washington DC area is not correct, I have emails out to both the AA and the Crystal City Sports Pub to get info on the game what they may be anticipating. Any word from Alumni from the DC or NOVA area that are getting together for the game?

Great job, Lax. I really like having all the gamewatches (and the contact people) in one thread. Makes it easy for those of us who travel some on the weekends.
