When the better team loses, it's always painful, and the refs are the natural target of some of that frustration.
Especially when they blow calls at the end of games that influence the outcome.

And yet it's always true. Our board is acting like Nebraska fans tonight. There is not some conspiracy by the Missouri Valley Conference to screw us. We lost because we let UNI slow down the game instead of playing our tempo, we didn't rebound, and we didn't make shots that we've been making so far this year.

We got outplayed, not ref-jobbed.

We get it...you dont think the refs cost us the game...

I thought the refs were fine. ISU, on the other hand, looked like it has for most of the last 4 years. Too bad Ejim fouled out. We need to find a go-to-guy at crunch time and he might just be that guy.

I'm confused. What is your take on the officiating?

I am thankful there are some fans on this board who have a brain. There were bad calls made both ways. Was it a travel? Was it not?? Who knows....none of us had even a DECENT feed so don't tell me that you saw it either way.

As for ISU being the better team...again, you have no idea. We are 5 and 7 games into the season. We haven't beat anyone, and neither have you.

I typically root for ISU, but after reading some of these comments it is going to make it tough. I thought Iowa fans were the only ones who complained this much about officiating. I guess I was wrong.

Our go-to went-to and the refs were-to offended to let the point-to count.

These arent mutually exclusive things. We play a better game or have non-****** officiating, we win by a closer margin. We play a better game AND have non-****** officiating, we win by more.

If your Cyclones were such a great team, you should've been up by enough for the refs to have no impact.

Reasons we lost:

1. Rebounding
2. Foul Trouble
3. Poor Officiating

1. we couldn't rebound or they'd call a pushing foul
2. we couldn't play defense because we got fouls for touching them.
3. Terrible refs. I've never seen worse in 20 years.

Refs can control a game - I've reffed and its easy to do, who will question you? the home crowd???? There better be a statement for the reffing association.

We don't need you cheering for us. Go cheer for Iowa like the rest of your UNI "fans" aka Iowa fans. Seriously, you cannot tell me that you didn't think that officiating was biased.

the travelling no-call for them followed closely by the DG traveling call was a big game changer. But, not sure we deserved the game anyway.

Say what you will, but we played a bunch of minutes in the second half with no JVB because of a couple of cheap fouls and Ejim fouls out on 2-3 legit fouls and a couple of cheapies.

We are WAY to thin to have that happen.

And despite all that we were down only 2 when they call the BS travel call negating a basket and possibly an and 1 situation for Garrett.

Did the refs cause us to shot 25%? No. Did they put additional obstacles in our way? Hell yes.
