Kind of funny that the OU AD said everyone had a chance to voice their concerns at the meetings, but it's pretty obvious that no one cared about what the bottom 6 or so had to say.

I do not feel better after reading that. I'm all about happiness and a false sense of security. It's Friday afternoon. I wish JP and President Geoffroy would have inserted a little more sunshine into the letter.

Another interesting post from the Baylor board...

Big 12-Pac 10 merger info - BaylorFans.com Message Boards

1. They are discussing an "Alliance". Inter-league play with good TV money

2. 11 of the 12 Big 12 schools are "committed", whatever that means. Nebraska is still hoping for Big 10 invitation.

3. FSN has made a very good ($) offer to the Big 12. This has helped Mizzou and Colorado make the commitment.

4. Bill Powers and Deloss Dodds were our friends in the last 24 hours. They were trying to hold the conference together. A&M isn't to be trusted.

It is 3pm on Friday.... ISU Athletics has just been issued the last rites.... Just another exciting day in the life of Cyclone Nation.

This is weird that we're getting info from a BAYLOR board. Of ALL the Big 12 teams, Baylor?! Those Baptists, man. Let me tell you.

From all indications, they have all reasons to be scared. They don't have the representation in the Texas Government that UT, aTm and TT have.

That's a whole lot of nothing in that letter.

I don't even see the point in putting that letter out. I guess it says "Wait and see, we don't know **** either."

Yes. Baylor is the Texas school that despite having resources, a great recruiting base, etc... still can't get the job done. Baylor's only hope is for the Big XII to remain intact or they will be heading straight to C-USA with their old pals SMU, Rice, Houston, etc....

Baylor is in a far worse position then we are currently if everything falls apart.

Doesn't sound good. Texas better understand that the worthless SWC did nothing for them....the Big 8 saved their *** and made them a player again in college sports. Don't be *****....and look for money.....keep this conference going....keep midwest teams playing each other....

You leave.....and you have scewed so many good schools....that saved your *** in the 90's that invited YOU in.

What is clear, and sobering, if that even if the Big 12 survives, every school will still be fearful that Texas might leave. The rest of us better get used to being on our knees.
The old complaints about revenue-sharing will now be the good 'ol days...

Yeah, because of this, I would like to see the Big 12 blow up at this point. I don't want these games to keep going on with people threatening to leave.

That letter was VERY troubling. It wasn't just the "Don't worry!!! Everything is fine." statement before everything blows up, but it actually admitted "We are in trouble."

We didn't save Texas despite what most would like to believe. The SEC courted UT before Arkansas, but Texas said that their academics didn't meet UT's standards. My point is they could have easily joined up with the SEC or Pac 10 at that time had they wanted to.

The Big 8 needed those schools as much or more than they needed us because even back then, it was becoming more and more about TV sets.

I disagree. Lets say Baylor and ISU end up in C-USA: Within a few years, Baylor would have much more success in that league than we would. Our recruiting will suffer greatly not being in the Big 12. Baylor's will too, but it will be tougher to convince out of state players to come to ISU playing in a conference lower than the big 12.
