Hookay, all the lights that are up should be, and still no access with Mediacoms auto-supplied DNS addresses or OpenDNS. Now this is getting on my nerves.
Quite literally as I posted this, my internet springs to life after some fooling around with my Airport Extreme's settings. Hoorah! And without OpenDNS!

Yep. My husband called and finally got through to a tech support person last night who said they'd been having issues the past few days, which coincided with our internet issues at home. I'll have to ask him about switching to OpenDNS, I don't know if there are any restrictions when he remotes into work from home.FYI. It's a DNS issue.

There are a lot of similar posts to the one here but it is confirmed to be a DNS outage around page 3.
Would not be surprised if it is a DNS problem. Which would explain why some sites work and others do not.
There are forums on DSL Report that is specific to each provider (including Mediacom). I would head over there and see if there any widespread issues.
Past that, try switching to OpenDNS.
Yep, It's faster now than it was before all of the DNS problems. I'm going to check the speed on speedtest.net.Mine went out the last 2 nights, but now it is back to super-speedy.
