The thing that drives me nuts is the fact that they keep saying "its all about the kids." That is BS. If they actually cared more about the kids, they would take the time to fix whatever they needed to fix to stay together. The fact is they are using the kids as an excuse instead of a reason to save the mariage.

Staying together for the sake of the kids is VERY RARELY the right thing to do...

I had a friend growing up whose parents did this. He lived downstairs and she upstairs. They kids have since moved away and they are still dong this. They will never get a divorce yet dont really act married. Its an odd thing.

Pretty good model for the kids to see, right? Instead of a lovinf relationship they see two people acting their whole lives, trying to be cordial in front of the kids and everyone else when inside they are hating life?

Yep, my friend is already divorced and her brother doesnt have much desire to settle down. I think the kids ultimately suffer from this arrangement.

Is anybody?

Sometimes on the way home from the golf course on Wednesday nights my radio dial in the car is on the channel playing her show and I'll catch 5 minutes of it before I have to turn it off. How in the hell does she have a show? She's the type that would kick her own father in the nuts. She makes Kate seem like a loving angel....

Apparently...she's still making money.

I just like how it seems like any time I catch her show she is encouraging people to stay together for the kids almost no matter what the circumstance. Like kids aren't smart enough to see mom and dad are faking it...

In a perfect world, people would be married for a couple years before they decide to have kids. I have to think the majority of people know within a couple of years whether it's really going to work or not.

I'm not a big fan of Dr Laura and don't have kids but sometimes I do agree with her. You did decide to have kids and by doing this you should be responsible for being the best parents you can be. For some people there is no other choice but divorce but for a lot of people it's just the easy way out.

Either way...thought it was funny they kept saying "it's about the kids"...I don't know, sounded hallow to me. First and last partial episode....don't know how you all do it.

If it really were about the kids, they'd stay together and work out their differences. This is about the parents and not the kids who are the ones who are really going to suffer.

I'm holding out hope this is some sort of publicity stunt to drum up ratings.

Can the world continue without Jon and Kate?
