Fyre Festival Documentary

Finally got around to watching the Netflix doc about the Fyre Festival fraud. I knew a little about it from when the news stories broke, but learned quite a bit from the interviews they did.

Billy McFarland seems like a real dirtbag, so glad to see him behind bars. Sounds like he had his workers continue to dig themselves into a deeper hole when they should have done the right thing and cut their losses.

I could see how the concert goers got duped, but I would’ve been a little more inquisitive if I wasn’t getting info on travel arrangements. Feel horrible for the Bahamians who lost a lot of money.

Anyone else seen it? How is the Hulu version?

-THT in absolute beast mode. His defender just looked defeated after he bullied him on that layup.

NFL 101. Make sense of this?

On the link, skip down to the comment by Nazma........ Unusual post. This person has a very comprehensive understanding of the subject, but why the post/in this comment? In code?

In the United States, the National Football League has television contracts with four networks: CBS, ESPN, Fox, and NBC. Collectively, these contracts cover every regular season and postseason game. In general, CBS televises afternoon games in which the away team is an AFC team, and Fox carries afternoon games in which the away team belongs to the NFC.

In addition to the regional games, the league also has packages of telecasts, mostly in prime time, that are carried nationwide. NBC broadcasts the primetime Sunday Night Football package', which includes the Thursday NFL Kickoff game that starts the regular season and a primetime Than...........

Grading the Players Thus Far

This is how I would grade the performances thus far.

A
Haliburton: great fit on a team of scorers. He can be a huge plus on any team. Look out as he gets his man muscles.

A-
Weiler-Babb: His finishes at the rim yesterday were 10/10. He plays above guys. I give him a minus because I think he should get to that level more.
Shayok: If can get a tinge better at his decision making he would be an A.

B+
THT: I expected big things and he delivered. Just needs to shoot better. He’s starting to feel his oats.

Jacobson: Turned himself into a good post scorer. Doesn’t have the game to be a plus against really big guys.

B
Lard: he’s getting assists and making 15 footers now. Look the **** out.

B-
Wigginton: Amazing athleticism. Struggling to fit in.

New ISU Nike gear - where do you find it?

Is it just me, or is it impossible to find the new ISU Nike gear anywhere? I see photos of the new gear the players and coaches are wearing, but can't find it in stores anywhere. Specifically black or dark gray hoodies or quarter-zips. Places that have some of it are only in random sizes like small or XXL.

Have tried Cys Locker Room, ISU Book Store, Amazon, Fanatics, Lids, Scheels, Dicks, etc...can't find much of anything with the new look in a large.

NCAA selection tools

Which of these makes the most sense as an NCAA selection tool. Keep in mind Nebraska is 13-7 with few if any impressive wins and a few bad losses.

A:
21. Nebraska
23. Iowa State
24. Iowa

B:
12. ISU
18. Nebraska
29. Iowa

C:
23. Iowa State
34. Iowa
64. Nebraska

On what planet has Nebraska played as well or better than ISU and Iowa? On what planet does 13-7 with no good wins and some bad losses say 5 seed? They should be a bubble team at best if the selection were today. 64 is a drastically better indication of their achievements than 18 or 21.

Legend:
A is what we're using now
B is what fans mistakenly thought was a resume ranking tool and demanded we use it to rank resumes
C is what we used before that actually ranks a resume of wins and losses against schedule quality

Kristin Scott's sub-par performance in the Okie State game

I was dissapointed in Kristen Scott's performance in the Oklahoma State game. She had zip - zilch - ZERO offensive rebounds for the entire game! It's like she made every shot and free throw or something - and that would just be crazy. She has to grab at least a couple of her own mis-fires. These will not be good stats as time goes forward. Yeah, sure she had like 12 defensive rebounds. Maybe she can learn to use that ability to get her own missed shots in the future?

29 11-11 7-7 2-2 0-12 12 2 1 1 2 0 31

:jimlad:

Holy crap - what a game! Well done, Kristen! That was outstanding. It doesn't happen every game so savor your success and get back to work for the next one. But... it's ok to take a minute and say to yourself, "That was freaking awesome!"

New Letter From Alcatraz Escapee?

A letter allegedly written by one of the escapees recently came to light. CBS San Francisco exclusively obtained it from a source.

"My name is John Anglin. I escape from Alcatraz in June 1962 with my brother Clarence and Frank Morris. I'm 83 years old and in bad shape. I have cancer. Yes we all made it that night but barely!"

Bowen Born

https://247sports.com/Player/Bowen-Born-46057912/
Exploded for 47 tonight. He is averaging 25 PPG, and 4 assists per game as well. Why has this kid not got an ISU offer yet? There is not a Coach in America I trust more than Prohm when it comes to evaluating PG talent. But from everything I have seen Born has all the tools to be a dominate College PG. He is on the shorter side "5'11" but has good quickness, above average athleticism, nice vertical, solid passer, nice ball control, a slew of floaters and shots he can get off against bigs, and is a deadly shooter from 3 point range. What does he need to do to get an offer from ISU? Does he need to beat Foster and Osky again in the State Championship? Or simply grow a few inches? ISU is in on a bunch of 4 Star PG's at the moment but Born is way better than his UNI, and Drake offers.
