Grills, Grills, Grills

I milked every season I could out of my old CharBroil but now. it's time to replace it.

I know Weber is considered the best of the best but has anyone bought a non Weber brand lately from a big box store and been happy? I'll probably end up with a Weber but wanted to see if there is another brand I should strongly consider. Given current times spending $800+ on a grill when you could spend $400 and get just as good of one is something to look at.

TL;DR....Gas grill recommendations...go

Iowa United 2020

Hey guys just wanted to announce that we will be returning to the TBT Tournament this summer!! (Provided we play of course) and will be announcing the team tomorrow at 12 noon on our twitter page at @iowatbt.

We have a roster of 10 guys that we are excited about. 2 Cyclones, 2 Hawkeyes, 2 Bulldogs, 1 other and 3 "Grad Transfers". I have worked closely with both Jeff Horner and Marcus Fizer recruiting what we think is a far more competitive team than last year that you guys will be excited about. Unfortunately we are not able at this time to get a UNI player, I will say it was not for a lack of trying. Our call list for this year was over 120 players in total!

We also have a lot planned for you as fans. We will do our typical marketing week for each player leading up to the tournament, helping you get to know them better, but now we will have more giveaways! Autographed balls, Trivia Day to win an autographed Iowa United practice jerseys, Beer gift cards (Mmmmm...Beer), and a community event to meet the players, coaches and staff.

We want to thank our awesome sponsors Reclaimed Rails, Uptown Garage Brewing, and Newton Apparel for all their help. 3 great Iowa businesses.

Again..@iowatbt at 12 noon tomorrow. Thank you for all of your support.

Netflix - Unabomber (In His Own Words) - question about FBI involvement

The Netflix interview with the Unabomber was a pretty good show. Not as gripping or tear jerking as some of the other documentaries out there, but interesting and informative for sure. A nice mix of the storyline and interviews with family members or people that knew him along with a pretty rare interview from Ted himself.

It's worth a watch.

Electrical question: light fixtures

So we ordered some new exterior light fixtures for our house. Our old ones fully enclosed the light bulb, but these new ones are "barn" style where the bulb is under the fixture but technically open to any elements that may blow up into it. Our house faces north.

My question, maybe a really dumb one, but I've never encountered this....Do I need to buy special outdoor bulbs? I don't know if they need to be better protected/waterproof? The site we bought the fixtures from just says 120v wattage, E26/medium bulb base.

Thanks in advance.

Get your stimulus check payment

Just FYI the website is up:
https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment

I would check your status. Even though I filed and payed my taxes this year through direct debit it said it didn't have the necessary bank account information for me. This is weird because they definitely had no problem taking money out of my account.

You will need your adjusted gross income and the amount you payed/owed on the last taxes you filed in addition to your bank account info. The wait wasn't too long to get on the website but who knows how long that will be the case.

On That Note: It’s All Been Done

Welcome back to “On That Note,” CF’s weekly music hub, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.

Inspiration for this segment comes to us from @VeloClone, and the focus is “cover song surprises,” involving two sub-themes.

(A) Songs you initially thought were originals, but at some point learned were covers.
For each entry, include at least 2 clips:
  1. Version you initially assumed was original recording
  2. Actual original
  3. (optional) additional versions released before between (1) and (2).
(B) Songs performed by songwriters after they were released by another artist.

I’ll post my first entries separately.

Unemployment payments

This a weird question to ask. Have a neighbor who is a contract worker with health benefits. He also works a part time job. He is still working as a contract worker, but was laid off due to the coronavirus on his part time job as a line cook. He applied for unemployment for his part time job and got a check. Should he be eligible to collect unemployment benefits from his part time job? He really has to work the two jobs to make ends meet. He is kinda freaking out about it. I don't know how it works as I haven't experienced it before.

It's not me as I have a work from home job and thankful that our company is doing well. Even got a bonus for selling some items that have been hard to move the last few months.

Most Improved Football Players

Who do you think the most improved players on offense and defense will be this year?

Offense - I think Sean Shaw is going have a breakout season. He showed some great signs this past season and our tight end core is going to get a lot of attention leaving some one on ones for Shaw to take advange of.

Defense - Eisworth. He got dinged up in the Iowa game and was a shadow of his former self this past season. He finally plays healthy and has motivation to be a first rounder in the next draft.

Tyson Offered $10G to Zookeeper To Punch Out a Silverback Gorilla

"......
Tyson said he was being given a private tour of a zoo more than 30 years ago, saw a gorilla being a bully, and offered the tour guide a considerable sum of money so he could go inside the cage and punch him.

"I paid a worker at New York's zoo to re-open it just for me and [ex-wife] Robin [Givens]," Tyson said, according to Boxing Scene.

"When we got to the gorilla cage there was one big silverback gorilla there just bullying all the other gorillas. They were so powerful but their eyes were like an innocent infant.

"I offered the attendant $10,000 to open the cage and let [me] smash that silverback's snot box! He declined...."
