I'm on the board of the Iowa State Alumni of Denver group. We are trying to plan an event of some kind for the game in Boulder in October. Boulder is not cheap and the tailgating scene is scattered at best. We are trying to put together a tailgate party with ticketing, wristbands, a couple of food trucks (one entree included), and unlimited beer/seltzer (no other alcohol available). Profits from the sale of tickets would help to fund our scholarship. An alternative idea is to go simple and find a bar/restaurant to host ISU fans with a cash bar the night before. How much would you be willing to pay for a single ticket to a tailgating party like this?

Why is canceling a subscription so hard?

Never mind, I know why it's so hard -- so you give up in frustration and keep paying in perpetuity. I went to cancel my 247 subscription as the promotional period was about to end and followed the instructions to a T. I was told to go to my settings on the 247 site, then under the subscriptions column, click on "cancel my subscription." Only problem is, there is no such set of words to click on anywhere on the page.

It also gave me the option of calling to cancel or emailing. I chose calling when canceling online failed to work. I got the robo answering machine, went through all the prompts and after the final prompt, the phone rang and then nothing. No music, just dead silence. I had a sneaking suspicion they hung up on me. Turns out, after a wait of nearly 5 minutes that that is exactly what happened as the call just ended. So I called back.

If they expected me to give up at this point, they don't know who they're dealing with. I called back and finally got to talk to a live person, but they made me jump through hoops before they agreed to cancel the subscription. It shouldn't be this hard, but more importantly, it shouldn't be this deceitful. If you say there is a button where you can cancel your subscription, you ought to, by god, have a button where you can cancel your subscription.

Star Wars Expanded Universe Thread

Similar to my other cinematic universe threads (Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fox X-Men Universe, DC Extended Universe), the following is a thread completely devoted to talking ALL things related to the existing and upcoming Star Wars Universe, whether it be movies, TV shows, comics, books... etc. Below is a good graphic depicting what is meant by the Star Wars Expanded Universe and what Disney now considers canon. It is important to know that once Disney bought Lucasfilms back in 2012, they decided to reset the existing canon. What I mean by that is they declared that the only thing considered canon moving forward was all the existing saga films (Episodes 1-6), as well as the existing animated TV shows (Clone Wars, Rebels). All else, including existing books, shorts stories, comics, and even the existing Ewok movies were all removed from canon. This was and has been a very controversial topic among fans.

Here is a more detailed and more accurate exact timeline on everything:

Moving forward, the following is a graphic of the current upcoming schedule (the 2018 spin-off will be a Han Solo movie):

With all this said, this is the place to post any and all things Star Wars, whether that be news, opinions, reviews, rumors... etc.
