In memoriam

Every year, it seems, one or more of the people mentioned in the in-memoriam segment of the Oscars catches me by surprise. This year, it was Val Kilmer, who I had no idea had died. All in all, it was a bad year for iconic actors as we lost Robert Duvall, Robert Redford, Diane Keaton, Kilmer, Claudia Cardinale, Michael Madsen, Catherine O'Hara and Bridget Bardot, not to mention one of the greatest film directors of all time in Rob Reiner.

Interviews 3/16 Media: Dresser, Poulin, Elam Preview NCAA Championships

Hey cool kids,

Pretty good interviews here with the Cyclones! Energy and vibes seem really good.

Enjoy!

I'll have more content and some updates for you guys on NCAA coverage soon as well.

Everything Happens in Threes

Like the saying goes, “everything happens in threes.” Kinda like Momcilovic hitting three straight threes against Arizona to close out the first half last Friday.

1. Neighbor to the north of us passes out at the gym in the sauna, Ambulance ride to the hospital and two days later, gets a pacemaker.

2.Last Wednesday neighbor to the south of us gets taken out of his house on a gurney and the ambulance ride with RSV and a serious bladder infection.

3.Friday, neighbor across the street was at some event and he loses consciousness and no heartbeat. He was in VTach for 3 minutes until a nurse that was at the event did CPR on him and had to use a defibrillator on him. Thankfully he is doing fine!

I was afraid to leave the house this weekend! Then I remembered that was the third one.

**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

With the regular season ending time the transfer announcements are starting thought it was time to start the tread.

Early indications are a lot of the roster that can return will which should be a top 25 team. Still losing Tamin and Joshua means there are roster spots to fill and should be attractive to a couple of players that fit Cyclones MBB.

One thread to post and discuss potential additions to next years roster.

Let Him Cook: Big 12 Tournament Recap and NCAA Tournament Preview

Dylan Coon and Nigel Dyson recap Iowa State’s week in Kansas City and look ahead to Iowa State’s draw in the NCAA Tournament. The boys also talk about what matchups they like and what it will take for the Cyclones to have a successful March.

Williams & Blum: Full analysis on Iowa State’s NCAA Tournament draw

Chris Williams & Brent Blum analyze everything about Iowa State’s NCAA Tournament draw against Tennessee State. What would a Round of 32 matchup against Santa Clara or Kentucky look like? Then, breaking down the draws for Big 12 teams, as well as discussing the Iowa State women getting Syracuse with a possible date against UConn shortly after. All courtesy of Mechdyne.

Your favorite ISU NCAA tourney game(s)

So many different eras of ISU basketball have been very fun to watch. One of my favorite ISU games in the NCAA tournament was against 3 seed Cincinnati in 1997. Willoughby was deadly from downtown, Pratt was one of the most unique power forwards of all time, Cato was a shot blocking machine, Bankhead was a lockdown defender, and Holloway was great at protecting and dishing the ball.

EDIT: I'm re-watching this game and at the 1:03:00 mark, Kenny Pratt drives and draws a foul. Cincy's coach yells "you can't guard him?" at his player. Thought that was pretty funny.
