Blue Blood Notre Dame

I went to the ND boards and they seem pretty upset they have to play us. I know we aren't what they hoped for, but I would hope they would take the time to watch some of our reruns vs teams like Oklahoma,Baylor and Texas. I think we have the ability and coaching to beat this team. any thoughts ?

Is Self Done at KU

Bummed I can't be in Kansas City this week to enjoy the run to another Championship Game.

I was speaking to a family member who lives in KC, they mentioned there is talk on KU sports talk radio that Bill Self might be done at KU. Speculation he might be headed to Chicago Bulls. I expected to see something on the Big12 forum about this. Any legs to this rumor from fans in KC?

Of course one name KU fans bring up as next coach is Hoiberg.

2019/20 - Beauty and Beast (gymnastics and wrestling)??

Will there be a "Beauty and Beast" event this year?

I looked at the 2019/2020 schedule and it is not called out:
https://cyclones.com/sports/wrestling/schedule

Looks like there was one in Jan 2017:
https://www.event.iastate.edu/event/41540

...and this says there it is/was "bi-annual", which would mean 2016/17 and 2018/19, then again in 2020/21. If that is 'policy' then seems like not this year:

Seems to me they should do it every year! I've never been but thought the kids would be a good age to enjoy.

I think the answer is no for this year, but thanks in advance if anyone can confirm,

As wrestling fans do you like it (promotion, bigger crowd) or dislike (too much distraction, not serious crowd support)?

NFL: ***Official Week 14 Thread***

Starts with Dallas @ Chicago - I think the Bears' win over Detroit last Thursday was probably fool's gold but we'll see. They're catching the Cowboys in the midst of a slump, so you never know.

Baltimore @ Buffalo - This one could be a sneaky good game. I'm still not totally sold on Josh Allen but the Bills are taking what he offers at QB and making it work. They're only one game back of the Pats with the second game of their head to head series still to be played.

San Fran @ New Orleans - Huge playoff implications here. The Saints have locked up the NFC South but the #1 seed is still very much in play for them and the Niners.

KC @ NE - AFC Championship rematch. I can't believe this game didn't land on Sunday or Monday night. The Chiefs have all but locked up the AFC West. If they can go into Foxboro and beat the Pats it puts them back in the hunt for a top two seed and first round bye, and it potentially knocks the Pats into a tie with the Bills if Buffalo can get the upset W over Baltimore.

SEA @ LA Rams - The Rams are showing signs of life again. Could be a shootout.

NYG @ PHI - Maybe your last chance to see Eli Manning in action. Monday night thriller.

Irish FB record vs. Big 12 teams

https://slapthesign.com/2019/06/25/notre-dame-football-irish-record-vs-every-big-12-team/

Who are the four current Big 12 teams who have never played Notre Dame? Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

Of that group, only Oklahoma State surprises me. The other three were never consistently relevant. Now, however, it would be fun to see the Irish square off with Iowa State and Matt Campbell — one of the hottest coaching names in the college game.

Additionally, it’s a little sad that Bill Snyder never got a chance to face the Fighting Irish.

***Official ISU Bowl Predictions***

Alright this is for ISU bowl game destination predictions.

Give me your predictions! (You don't have to go full Big 12 but I thought I would.)

I see 7 bowl eligible teams from the Big 12. WVU, Tech and Kansas will not go bowling. TCU will get two more wins and become bowl eligible by beating Tech and WVU.

OU: in the Sugar Bowl (12-1)
Baylor: in Alamo Bowl (10-3)
Texas: Camping World Bowl (8-4)
Iowa State: Academy Sports Outdoors Texas Bowl (7-5)
KState: Liberty Bowl (8-4)
Okie St Cheeze It Bowl (8-4)
TCU First Responders Bowl (6-6)

This will shake out differently if there is some sort of chaos and OU makes it to the playoff. I'd wager that ISU, barring some sort of meltdown, will be in Camping World Bowl or Academy Sports Outdoors Texas Bowl.

Crazy Iowa State related story

I didn't see this anywhere, apologies if posted.

https://www.theverge.com/2019/12/9/...ii-sentenced-14-years-domain-name-state-snaps

A social media influencer has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for concocting a scheme to violently coerce a stranger into giving up a web domain name, the US Department of Justice announced today.

The influencer, Rossi Lorathio Adams II, went by the name “Polo,” and he ran a series of accounts across Instagram and other platforms known as State Snaps while attending college at Iowa State University. The accounts, which Adams began operating around 2015, typically involved depictions of risky or sexually explicit behavior, often featuring college girls. According to The Washington Post, one account Adams ran on Instagram had amassed 1.5 million followers.

Adams, however, became increasingly frustrated that he did not own doitforstate.com, a reference to a popular hashtag (“#DoItForState”) on social media the influencer often used in comments and captions to invoke the type of behavior he would later post about to millions of fans online. The domain name carrying Adams’ slogan was in fact owned by a Cedar Rapids individual, Ethan Deyo, with whom Adams had no prior affiliation.
