RECRUITING: Iowa State earns sixth commitment to 2025 class in Kansas edge Charlie Woleben

Iowa State earned its sixth commitment to the 2025 recruiting class on Sunday in De Soto (Kansas) edge Charlie Woleben.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound recruit picked Iowa State over Kansas State, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Tulsa, UNI, NDSU, and Lindenwood.

Woleben is rated as the No. 10 prospect out of Kansas and No. 65 overall at his position.

“(Defensive line) Coach Eli Rasheed obviously just has a lot of energy and just really loves the game and making people at it,” Woleben said. “It’s a great culture there.”

Woleben joins quarterback Alex Manske, wide receiver Xzavion Robinson, offensive tackle Will Tompkins and fellow edge rushers Trey Verdon and Jack Limbaugh.

He’ll return to Ames for a scheduled visit during the June 7-9 recruiting weekend – one of the two rounds of weekend visits Iowa State puts a focus on while building their classes.

“That excites me,” Woleben said. “It’s a good chance to get some to know some of the other like recruits and possible teammates.”

With the addition of Woleben, Iowa State’s class is rated as the No. 32 recruiting class in the country by 247 Sports’ ratings.
