RECRUITING: Iowa State WBB earns first portal commitment of off-season from Sydney Harris

Iowa State women’s basketball earned its first transfer portal commitment of the off-season over the weekend in TCU transfer Sydney Harris.

The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 9.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, despite sitting out non-conference play with an ankle injury.

She finished the season with a 40 percent mark from the 3-point line (32-80).

In the nine games Harris played where she recorded more than 20 minutes of playing time, the Edwardsville, Illinois native scored in double figures in eight of them.

Harris played her freshman season at Central Michigan, where she was named MAC freshman of the year while averaging 17.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

Harris becomes Iowa State’s ninth player set for the 2024-25 roster, which Iowa State will look to continue to add to in the coming weeks.
