RECRUITING: Cyclones earn transfer commitment from ULM DT Kenard Snyder

Iowa State picked up its first transfer commitment ahead of Early Signing Day on Tuesday in former Louisiana Monroe standout Kenard Snyder.

At 6-foot-0, 248 pounds, Iowa State hopes Snyder can bring an immediate pass rushing threat into its defensive line room, headed by coach Eli Rasheed.

Snyder was one of the athletes on campus over the weekend taking a visit before Signing Day arrives, and chose the Cyclones over offers from UAB, Western Kentucky, Old Dominion Florida International, Ball State, Troy, Texas State, Georgia State, North Texas and Southern Miss.

He totaled 60 tackles and 5.5 sacks last year for UL Monroe after moving from linebacker to defensive end during camp.

Snyder joins prep commits Jace Gilbert and Alijah Carnell as new additions in the defensive line room. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
