Purdy signs four-year, $3.75 million deal with 49ers

The most accomplished quarterback in Iowa State football history has reportedly signed his first professional contract.

Brock Purdy has agreed to a four-year, $3.75 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to 49ers WebZone‘s David Bonilla. The team used the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft to select Purdy in the seventh round earlier this year.

Purdy, a two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection, left Iowa State either owning or sharing 32 school records, including nearly every career passing mark at the school. The Gilbert, Ariz. also ranks in the Big 12’s top-10 in career completions, passing yards and total offense.

Iowa State enjoyed unprecedented success with Purdy behind center as he finished as the program’s all-time winningest quarterback with a 30-17 record as a starter, including going 16-1 against Big 12 teams at Jack Trice Stadium. He also led Iowa State to its first Big 12 title game appearance in 2020 and helped the program win its first New Year’s Six bowl game in program history that same season.

Purdy’s deal with the 49ers includes a $90,660 signing bonus and his 2022 cap figure is $727,665. He will join the franchise in camp with his eyes set on earning the back-up quarterback job behind presumed starter Trey Lance, who is expected to replace incumbent starter Jimmy Garroppolo.
