Recruiting: Iowa State signee Eli King a finalist for Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball

Another member of Iowa State’s 2022 men’s basketball recruiting class is on the cusp of player of the year honors in his state.

Minnesota’s Eli King is in the final five for the state’s Mr. Basketball award, given to the most outstanding player over the season.

Over the week, King will play in the state tournament for his Caledonia team – seeded at the No. 2 spot in its class.

The award has been given to some big names over the years, including Chet Holmgren and Jalen Suggs in the most recent pair of seasons.

King and his Caledonia team will take on Perham on Tuesday night during the quarterfinals of the tournament.
