CAMPING WORLD BOWL CENTRAL: Updates from Orlando

Jared Stanbury, Chris Williams and other members of the CF staff will update this page throughout the week with content and updates from Orlando in the lead up to Saturday morning’s Camping World Bowl.

*** You can follow along with Jared in Orlando on the CF Instagram Story all week.

Thursday, Dec. 26

12:30 p.m. — CW back with a few links and tweets …

I’m always interested in bowl gifts … Part of what Iowa State players received from playing in the Camping World Bowl is a $400 Best Buy gift card.

*** From a Notre Dame fan site … Six Problematic Cyclones.

*** The panel at CBS Sports makes selections on the Camping World Bowl, where the Cyclones received a decent amount of respect.

11:40 a.m. — Jared Stansbury dropping in with three thoughts on Iowa State football 48 hours before the Camping World Bowl.

NOTE: Today will be the quietest day so far in Orlando with very little media availability this morning and practice being closed. Matt Campbell and Brian Kelly will hold their press conference tomorrow plus we will have our staff picks. I will also be recording a special edition of Football (And Random Things) with Jeff Woody after the podcast so it should be a busier day for content than today.

Wednesday, Dec. 25

3:43 p.m. — CW checking back in with some links from Iowa…

— Cool story here on Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly awarding two walk-ons with scholarships as Christmas presents yesterday.

Kelly discusses when he interviewed to become Dan McCarney’s replacement back in the day. Time flies!

— I loved this tweet from Cyclone Sports Properties’ Tim Atterberg.

1:07 p.m. — Two more stories from Jared Stansbury in Orlando.

*** Jon Heacock scouts the Notre Dame offense.

*** For Mike Rose, playing Notre Dame is special.

*** Also, here is video of Heacock talking about the Notre Dame offense.

*** I will have a fresh podcast for you this afternoon. Hoping to answer some fan questions with Alex Halsted from CycloneAlert and Dylan Montz from the Ames Tribune.

Tuesday, Dec. 24

4:35 pm. — Jared Stansbury writes on how the Camping World Bowl could be nearly as important for the 2020 Cyclones as it is the 2019 edition.

3:38 p.m. — Hear from Matt Campbell and Brian Kelly in a fresh podcast as Jared Stansbury reports from Orlando.

2:00 p.m. — Coming to you from back in Iowa, CW here. Here are a few Notre Dame centered links that I’ve been scouring this morning.

*** Like Iowa State, Notre Dame too has sold out its ticket allotment for Saturday’s game.

*** From Notre Dame’s Rivals site, the top five factors that will determine the outcome in the 2019 Camping World Bowl.

*** Some insight on Notre Dame’s play-calling situation for Saturday from ND Insider.

1:44 p.m. — A few notes from the portion we could see of Iowa State’s practice earlier today.

Here is a short video of Brian Kelly talking about Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy.

For more of Kelly talking about Iowa State’s sophomore signal-caller, go right here.

*** Jared drops in for a quick podcast detailing the week’s coverage plans upon arriving in Orlando.

*** Get an overview of the history of Notre Dame football from CF contributor Steph Copley.

*** From Matt Campbell’s media availability upon arriving at the team hotel…
