RECRUITING: Cyclones land commitment from California tight end Skylar Loving-Black

California tight end Skylar Loving-Black has announced his commitment to Iowa State following an official visit to Ames over the weekend.

Loving-Black is considered the No. 73 tight end in the country and the No. 170 prospect in the state of California. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound three-star chose Iowa State over offers from Colorado, Arizona State, Nebraska, Boise State and a host of other major programs.

Loving-Black is the Cyclones’ first tight end commitment in the 2019 recruiting class and joins athlete Leonard Glass to be the second California native in the class. He was Iowa State’s second commit of the day following wide receiver Ezeriah Anderson. Iowa State’s class currently ranks on the edge of the nation’s top-40 and has 21 commitments.
