Iowa State’s 2020 recruiting class has officially hit the ground running.
The Cyclones landed a commitment from Central Decatur linebacker Cole Pederson on Wednesday, giving them their second pledge for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
After thinking the offer over, I’ve decided to verbally commit to the college of my dreams! Thank you to all of my family and coaches for putting me in this position. Lot of work ahead and I couldn’t be more excited! @ISUMattCampbell @TysonVeidt @Coach_Heacock @CoachDHoodjer pic.twitter.com/wofHQjtzLF

Pederson, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound outside linebacker prospect, picked up an Iowa State offer following a camp in June. He returned to Ames for an unofficial visit later in the month before camping at Iowa and Notre Dame.
He makes his commitment with his only offer coming from Iowa State. The Leon, Iowa native recorded 13 tackles for the Cardinals during his sophomore season in 2017.
Pederson is Iowa State’s second commit in the 2020 class, joining Minnesota quarterback Aidan Bouman.
