BASKETBALL LATEST:

*** The Cyclones are in contact with Utah State transfer Koby McEwen, as first reported by Jeff Goodman on Saturday.  McEwen is a sit one, play two, point guard.  Read Jared’s article here for more information.

*** The staff reached out to graduate transfer Ehab Amin from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday, as reported by Evan Daniels.  In addition to ISU, Amin has heard from Florida State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, Nevada, BYU and Ohio State.  Originally from Egypt, Amin averaged 16.9 points per game last season and will have one year to play next season.

*** William Small was in Hazel Green, Alabama on Thursday visiting point guard Kira Lewis.  The Cyclones are looking to reload at the PG position with the departure of Nick Weiler-Babb and possibly Lindell Wigginton following next season.  Iowa State extended an offer to Lewis on January 14th.  Read more and view some highlights here.

*** ISU also visited guard Dekeyvan Tandy (Hopkinsville, Ky.) on Thursday.  Tandy has long been in contact with the staff, visiting Ames in December, receiving an offer on March 3rd and having Steve Prohm watch him in the Kentucky state tournament.

FOOTBALL LATEST:

*** Defensive end Devin Baldwin (Southfield, Mich.) announced he will commit in May via Twitter on Saturday.  Iowa State is his lone Power 5 offer, with other D1 offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Morgan State, Northern Illinois and Toledo.  Baldwin was in Ames on Thursday with a bunch of other Michigan prospects.

*** Iowa State extended an offer to athlete Leonard Glass (Fresno, Calif.) on Tuesday.  Glass has offers from Washington State, Colorado State., Fresno State, Nevada and New Mexico.  His profile has also been updated to show the Cyclones and Washington State as leaders.

*** The Cyclones handed out an offer to 2020 quarterback Jaden Casey (Calabasas, Calif.) Tuesday. Casey holds early offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Indiana, San Jose State and Southern Miss.

*** The last offer of the week went to 2020 linebacker Cornell Wheeler (West Bloomfield, Mich.) on Thursday.  Offers for Wheeler include Michigan, Ball State, Indiana, Syracuse and Toledo.  Wheeler was in Ames for a visit when he received the offer.

VISITORS:

*** Iowa State hosted three prospects on March 30th.  Offensive guard Ben Hoitink (Slinger, Wisc.), defensive end Reed Ryan (Waunakee, Wisc.), and linebacker Alex Howard (Cincinnati, Ohio) are still trying to earn offers from the Cyclones.  All three hold at least a couple D1 offers, but no power conference offers yet.

*** April 2nd must have been linebacker day for the Cyclones, as Nick Henrich (Omaha, Neb.), Brock Horne (Romeo, Mich.), and Michael Jansey Jr. (Batavia, Ill.) were in town.  Henrich and Jansey Jr. were on return visits.  Athlete M.J. Griffin (Saline, Mich.) was the final visitor on Monday.

*** Wide receiver Noah Jones (Willmette, Ill.) took a visit Tuesday.  Iowa State has not yet offered, but he holds offers from Air Force, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Dartmouth, UNI and Howard.

*** A busload of Michigan prospects, including previously mentioned Devin Baldwin and Cornell Wheeler, are on a trip to multiple Midwestern schools and landed in Ames on Thursday.  Allen Trieu compiled a list of some prospects on the trip.  The 2019 guys with offers include WR Tre Mosley (West Bloomfield), OLB Lance Dixon (West Bloomfield), and S Marcus Fuqua (Southfield).  OG William Racely (Flushing) has also been in contact with the staff previously but has not yet received an offer.  A couple 2020 offer holders were also on the bus, as WR Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen (Walled Lake) and S Makari Page (West Bloomfield) made their first visits.
