RECRUITING: Cyclones land commitment from Missouri safety Vonzell Kelley

Iowa State landed a commitment from 2019 safety Vonzell Kelley on Saturday, according to the three-star prospect’s Twitter account.

Kelley, a 6-foot, 175-pound Lee Summit, Mo. native, chose the Cyclones over offers from Kansas and Toledo. He is rated as the No. 74 safety in the country and No. 21 prospect in Missouri by 247.

He joins Chicago cornerback Joseph Thompson as defensive back commits in Iowa State’s 2019 recruiting class. Kelley is the eighth commit in Iowa State’s class that currently sits in the top-15 nationally.
