Iowa State set to open with Texas in Big 12 Tournament

Iowa State will take on Texas Wednesday night at 8:30 in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament. The Longhorns locked up the seven-seed in the tournament with an 87-79 win over West Virginia on Saturday.

The winner will take on 2-seed Texas Tech on Thursday in the quarterfinals.

The game will be the nightcap of a doubleheader beginning with the 8/9 matchup between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma at 6 p.m. in the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

Iowa State lost both matchups with Texas this season. First, a 74-70 overtime loss to the Longhorns on Jan. 1 at Hilton Coliseum. Texas completed the season sweep with a 73-57 win in Austin on Jan. 22.
