RECRUITING: Shakur Juiston commits to UNLV

Top Iowa State target Shakur Juiston announced on Instagram that he has signed a national letter of intent with UNLV. The Hutchinson C.C. forward is ranked as the No. 1 JUCO prospect in the country.

Iowa State still has three scholarships left to fill for the 2017-18 season with a couple weeks left in the spring signing period. The Cyclones have already picked up a commitment from Virginia transfer guard Marial Shayok.

Nebraska transfer forward Ed Morrow is set to visit Iowa State this weekend. He will sit out one season then play one more.

New Mexico graduate transfer Elijah Brown visited Ames last weekend and is set to visit Gonzaga before making a decision on his next school.

The Cyclones are also involved with Wright State graduate transfer Mark Alstork and UTSA graduate transfer forward Jeff Beverly. Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic throughout the evening and week for more on hoops recruiting.

Jared a native of Clarinda, Iowa, started as the Cyclone Fanatic intern in August 2013, primarily working as a videographer until starting on the women’s basketball beat prior to the 2014-15 season. Upon earning his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State in May 2016, Jared was hired as the site’s full-time staff writer, taking over as the primary day-to-day reporter on football and men’s basketball.
