Duke grad transfer defensive back picks ISU

The defensive backfield has the potential to be one of the strenghs for this year’s Iowa State football team, and on Monday that group got even better. Duke graduate transfer defensive back Evrett Edwards tweeted his commitment to Iowa State.

The 5-foot-11-inch, 190 pound, Woodbridge, Virginia, native tallied 26 tackles and an interception in two season with the Blue Devils. He will have two seasons to play for the Cyclones after graduating later this month.

Edwards was rated as a three-star prospect by 247 after his high school career. He also held offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Northwestern and a host of others.
