RECRUITING: Bielfeldt trims list to three; King to Nevada

Some good news surrounding the Iowa State basketball program…

Iowa State has made the final three for Michigan transfer Max Bielfeldt. That’s according to Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com. Here’s Rothstein’s tweet from late Friday afternoon:

"Michigan transfer Max Bielfeldt told @CBSSports he has cut his list to Indiana, Iowa State, and Nebraska. Immediately eligible. #iubb"

That means that Bielfeldt, who averaged 5.4 points per game last season for the Wolverines, has trimmed Depaul from consideration.

There’s a good chance that Bielfeldt is waiting around to see what is going to happen in Ames with head coach Fred Hoiberg. Sources have told Cyclone Fanatic that he was wanting to commit to Iowa State weeks ago but wants to know who the head coach is first.

If playing time is what Bielfeldt is after, Indiana might be the right place for him. Hoosier coach Tom Crean recently cut two frontcourt players from the team just over a week ago.

King to Nevada

Brown transfer Leland King visited Iowa State a few weeks ago. According to a source, Iowa State did not extend an offer. On Friday, King committed to Nevada.
