IRVING, Texas – Iowa State forward Chelsea Poppens was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Poppens posted double-doubles in each of Iowa State’s home wins over Oklahoma State and Texas last week.

The junior had one of the best games of her Iowa State career Saturday in Iowa State’s 71-56 win over Texas. Poppens went off for a career-high 27 points, 20 coming in the second half, on 9-of-11 shooting, and recorded 10 rebounds in only 24 minutes of action. Poppens started the week out with 11 points and 16 rebounds in the Cyclones’ 73-52 win over the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State.

The Aplington, Iowa native has been on a tear as of late, averaging 22.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in her last four contests, leading the Cyclones to a 3-1 record in that stretch.

Oklahoma’s Sharane Campbell earned Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors.
