I think health is always the biggest key with any ISU team because we just don't have a lot of depth when it comes to talent on the 2 deep. The OL will play a huge role, they not only need to develop and get some good chemistry going early to give our position players room to excel but they must stay healthy because there are a lot of questions already just with the starters. Can you name the backups right now and be confident they are capable Big 12 starters?
Lanning also needs to own the QB1 job. He doesn't need to be All Big 12 with the skill positions players he has around him, he just needs to be a game manager kind of like Alex Smith is with the Chiefs. Limit turnovers, hit your WR and know when to tuck it in and run. If we have a QB controversy mid-season this team will not go to a bowl.
