Yeah…. THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS!!! Great idea! So cool! Nothing more fun than shaming other Cyclone fans…. am I right?

I was going to start this list…. but then realized like 70% of the posts on today’s game thread would have to be included. That’s too much for me to type.

I agree though…. we should mock all the other fans that are critical in any way about the team when they aren’t playing well. That would be so funny, and would help a LOT!

I do want to say on Jefferson…. I for one doesn’t believe he’s only good enough to dominate when the other team’s starters get in foul trouble and aren’t in the game. I think he’s a LOT better than that.

Reminds me of that time I saw a cat poop on a hardwood floor and try to bury it.

Didn't work. It just spread it around more.

This group has only been playing together for so long. IYAKB you would know the game is about matchups, flow and knowing your role. Outside of Curtis you could argue Jefferson has been our most consistent.

To come in with those three guards and immodestly know how to balance deferring and dominating isn’t that simple.

Even when he hasn’t put up 18-30 he’s showing up as the most content rebounder, and being incredibly versatile with steals and assists.

It’s lame low effort takes to call out effort. Particularly for more athletic players and chalking it up to heart or lack of focus.

Kid’s been a baller since jump and more than any of us imagined.

You know, I don’t even disagree with that. He’s been way better than expected. I just think that if he was consistently as dialed in as Lipsey is, he’d be even better. Not many are though. I do think Jefferson could be a little quicker on his defensive rotations.

I love that tj plays with the lineups until he finds the hot one and stays with it. Chat, Jackson, and Heise all struggled today. So TJ put today's best five in at crunch time and let them bring it home.
Unfortunately that trio has struggled for at least a half dozen games.

Lipsey plays his tail off no doubt but some of the turnovers suggest he (like any player) he has lapses in focus.

I hate this take so many on here have. Because he plays at a different pace he isn’t trying as hard or giving his all. Obviously not comparing the two at all, but Jokic does the same thing. It’s just a much different style than people are used to. Looks like he doesn’t care, but casually putting up double doubles, even triple doubles. Can score a ton, rebounds very well, great passer, the list goes on.

Not only Q1, but with them getting healthy and experienced ASU is going to be a tough out the rest of the season. That’s a good team that’ll win some games.
And they've got a coach that can take 'em to the promised land!

Ahem.

You know what I hate? When you’re not 100% effusive praise and everything ISU related isn’t the best ever of all time, you get a bunch of “dumbs” and people all upset.

I never called Jefferson lazy and I don’t care about his pace. I said he lacks focus at times. And he does. Nobody is perfect and he does way more good than bad. Just something that should be cleaned up. Vs asu, Keyshawn picks up his 4th foul because Jefferson was late on the rotation. It happens a lot. Now, this isn’t some damning criticism that you defenders need to get upset about. It’s just something that needs to be cleaned up if we are going to max out our wins.

The Overton window is particularly narrow here, even for the inherent echo chamber nature of a message board

The Tyler Hansburough fallacy

Peyton Sandfort was the first thing that came to mind. Guy yells and screams and is cosplaying as a leader. But when it's crunch time, he's usually nowhere to be found.

Give me the guy who no affect that is an absolute stone-cold killer on the floor.

If we are going to criticize on the lack of focus then there is a lot to go around. I'm looking at you Jackson.

So does Lipsey lack focus when he makes some lazy passes? Does Gilbert lack focus when he makes some mistakes and turns the ball over trying to do a bit too much? Does Heise lack focus because he hasn’t been hitting threes? Does Jackson lack focus because he hasn’t been as strong of a rebounder or defender as we hoped? Does Jones lack focus when he misses a rotation? You see basketball is an imperfect sport where things don’t go your way, or you miss rebound, etc. The goal is to minimize those. Saying he lacks focus is a really weird thing to say for a guy that has been nothing short of great for us this year. Could he do some things better? Of course, but that applies to everyone on our team, our coaches, and for every single player in the country. That’s what I don’t understand.

What's not to understand? He's late on his defensive rotations at times. More than most on the team. Hopefully it gets better. Sorry to be so critical.
