Anybody got a good link to an example of how to write a letter of resignation. I think I'm going to quit my job tomorrow and want to do it as professionally as possible.

Take a crayon and write "I'm Out" on a post-it and give it to your boss, then walk away.

Don't have a specific example: just be thankful for your time and opportunities (if they were there) and explain you want to explore other avenues in your life.

Don't burn the bridge, because you may want a job down the road with them.

I don't understand posts like this. For one, you can google 'sample resignation letters' and find a hundred links to samples. Two, you 'think' you are quitting tomorrow, and are looking for samples the day before? I'm assuming you aren't a fry cook, since you are writing a letter, but before quitting any professional job, I would give it at least a month of good though, research of other jobs, how you want to communicate it, etc. I wouldn't be still 'thinking' of quitting the day before, and asking a message board for help.

All that said, good luck with everything, I just find these posts odd.

Walk in and start pointing, saying F U, F U, You're Cool, FU... I'm Out.

Hopefully you can find at least one person to point at and say You're Cool

The think means I believe I getting a new job offer this afternoon. If I don't then I'm not quitting. I've been looking for a new job for over a month.

Thank you that's what I'm looking for. I new a guy with a quote from Major League in his signature would come though for me. .

That's too much. Use the first paragraph and the last paragraph only. this serves as my resignation notice effective... My last day will be....

Thank you for the time... i learned a lot ...

Sincerely
me

Don't get bogged down in the details in the letter. If you feel comfortable you can disclose while you hand it in. The letter should be short, sweet and to the point. Don't burn the bridge but don't give all the info out.

Drive around your office in a golf cart, playing your boss's head like a bongo.

I picture the Seinfeld Millenium episode where George tries to get fired by the Yankees. He drives around the lot dragging the Worlde Series Trophy behind a golf cart.

I asume your real name is Todd Licklighter. Just walk in to Barta's office and explain you had no idea how bad the fan base was. How bad the team was and you are going to upgrade and take the grandview job.
