Does anyone know if there is video of the intro from today's meet on the internet? I felt it was one of the most exciting intro's i've ever heard! (And yes it could be the same as all the other meets, this was the first one i've made it to)

Agreed, that was awesome. (I wished they'd cranked up the bass until the place rattled, though.) Ever since Pollard came here, the marketing stuff has been off-the-charts cool, especially intro and promo videos. Wrestling this year and gymnastics last year were especially outstanding. I seriously felt like it was raining during the Prepare For Glory segment this afternoon! The whole thing was exquisitely coordinated with the IPTV announcer, as well.

I don't know who Scotty is, but he needs to do something like that for basketball and football.

I don't think that would work for hoops....it's wrestling...its a gladiator sport...its perfect for it. Not so much for basketball..

Imagine going through that 15 times a year, too...and then, 'OK, let's throw the little ball in the air and see who can tap it'.

It doesn't work. Casber does that at the nationals, and the place goes apepoop.

I don't see how it wouldn't work for football. We had that little video intro this year with that bad rap song playing right before they showed Gene leading the team through the Jake.

Speaking of basketball intros, does anyone miss the thing they did last year right before the intros? They played a version of "Dragula" with an animated video on the scoreboard showing the outside of Hilton. They even changed it once winter rolled around to show snow outside of Hilton. I thought it was great.

I don't think the lights come back on right away in Hilton, I mean the overhead lights in the roof.

That's correct. They take about 2 minutes to warm back up to full, but they worked that seamlessly into the intro sequence. They flipped on the power while stuff was still going on, and the intro was wrapping up before the lights had warmed up enough for anyone to notice them. It all worked very nicely.
