Would Farmageddon in Ireland qualify both teams to play a 13th game?

We all know about the Hawaii rule, where if you play Hawaii on the road (home, too?) you are allowed to play a 13th game. Since Ireland is farther away than Hawaii, would either KSU or ISU be allowed to play a 13th game? I know this would help in a hypothetical scheduling agreement with the Pac 2, but if that doesn't happen, we could still get another home game added. I would think both ADs would be all over that.

I'm guessing not.

I've always assumed the hawaii rule is more about helping Hawaii get teams to be willing to schedule them since its a difficult trip, rather than encouraging distant play in general. A neutral site game doesn't really fit that need.

No. It's only a Week 0 exemption.

Also:
Jack Trice to Aviva Stadium (Dublin) - 3,880 miles
Jack Trice to Ching Complex (U. of Hawaii) - 3,939 miles

Gotcha! Also those distances are wild. I suppose it shouldn't be too surprising, seeing as the closest state to Africa is Maine and not Florida!

IDK about Ireland but we should get some sort of benefit for going to Jonesboro Arkansas next year as well.

Still find that hilarious, we're going to freaking Europe, but we're also to Jonesboro Arkansas to save some money.

Another NCAA rule, commonly known as the Hawaii Exemption, allows Hawaii and teams that play in Hawaii the opportunity to schedule a 13th regular-season game. This helps those schools earn an extra guarantee payment, ticket revenue, etc., to offset the larger cost of traveling between the continental United States and the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

FBS teams can play a maximum of 12 regular-season games each year, per Bylaw 17.11.6.1. However, Bylaw 17.11.6.2 (g) permits any football games played in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico to not count against the maximum number of contests.

Rutgers isn't that much further away from Dublin than 20% of its conference mates now.
