I have seen some rumors circulating about ISU getting a women’s program. I’ve come to the really source, to see what truth there is behind this.

I just came her for the same reason. With the NCAA sanctioning it, I figure more DI teams will add it so that Iowa isn't the only team anymore. I was thinking ISU would wait a year or two before adding it, but they should add it before UNI does.

I just don't think there is any $ to add it

Did Iowa start out as a club team or did they go straight to being a varsity sport

I heard about this today and this is false. There are currently no plans to add a women's wrestling program at Iowa State so unless you hear that type of news directly from an ISU source I would continue to operate under the assumption that it isn't coming for the foreseeable future.

Revenue sharing definitely just made the growth of women's wrestling more difficult. Schools in general aren't going to be looking to add more programs when they're about to have to figure out how to handle NIL within their current programs! Just weird and crazy times and a subject I am sure we're going to see heavily discussed this offseason.

Come on man…. No wrestling fan should be against adding a new wrestling team. Men or women
Sorry but I'll disagree if it's not breaking even no reason to add it.
The A.D. is about to go through what I think will be a massive stress test. No need to add extra stressors.

A club team wouldn’t have anything to do with revenue sharing though .

A club team is definitely a different story! I was told that what was shared was news of an official program.

I won’t pretend to know all the details on how adding a club team works but I believe it’s tied to student fees and fundraising. I’m curious what the approval process looks like.

I do trust my source that this was announced and as a club team, I’m assuming some didn’t hear or understand the club part and spread the word of a team starting . Not sure how any of that works either.
