Will Iowa have any major golf tournaments in near future

there was the US Senior Open ten years ago at Des Moines Golf And Country Club but when will see another one....

The PGA Championship will be in Minnesota this year and next year its in Wisconsin

I doubt DSM Golf hosts again as it was very hard on the property supporting the crowds. Parking lots had to be replaced due to damage afterwards as well.

I don't think Glen Oaks has what it takes to host a major PGA event and TCI is unlikely as well.

I just don't see it in the near future.

While it is a PGA event, it certainly isn't a "major" one. I was assuming OP was looking for one where some name players would be on hand.

Kenny Perry won last year. Zach Johnson is always there.$4,000,000+ should get a few "big" names in town.

Too many people was the problem and the club had to make a lot of investments it didn't get reimbursed for. I seriously doubt the members want the hassle again even though it was extremely popular from a fan standpoint.

There's the Allianz or Principal Classic. Think it's still Principal, but given their financial woes - who knows. Supposed to be the first week of June/last weekend of May - I believe.
