Was watching the UNI - Wichita State game and noticed something pretty disturbing. All of their fans including their cheerleaders and even some kids were throwing the shocker hand sign all over the place. I won't go into details about it but if you know what I'm talking about then you know why it is crazy that kids and even older fans were throwing it all over the place. Funniest part was when a male cheerleader came up behind a female cheerleader and reached around her to throw the shocker sign up about 2 feet from the camera.

My wife and I were just rolling laughing every time we saw their fans. Obviously the students understand what they are throwing out there but no way does an 8 year old kid understand it and you wonder how many of the older fans even know what they are doing with their hands.

Was just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

the only way that this can be justified is if they've been doing this in wichita long before it became the universal sign for two in the pink one in the stink

If it was being used for something other than the current act that it symbolizes then I'd like to know what that is. It's not like someone one day said, "hey that's a cool hand signal, look what else I can do with it".

WSU isn't known as the shockers because of this and it's unfortunate that this bears the same name as their team name. The school needs to get ahead of this and at least keep the people representing the school from continuing to do it. They may even want to go as far as sending out some literature with their tickets next year to make sure that everyone knows exactly what they are doing because I have to believe that other than the students, most do not.

or they could just ignore it and not get hung up on trivial things.

I'm betting that's exactly what happened.

Did anybody else see their MBB poster from this year? Literally all the players and cheerleaders were making the sign. I can't find a picture of it on the internet now but IMO eventually it will be addressed.

WSU Shockers are just a bunch of cry baby sore losers that cheat at internet competitions then try to disqualify others when they themselves get disqualified for cheating.

Well it is San Fransisco, so nothing would really surprise me...

I have a friend who goes to school there and instead of the big foam "#1" hands, they have the big foam "shocker" hands.

You stay classy Kansas!
