Why is Brent Musburger such a Big 10 homer?

Well, he did graduate from Northwestern. I don't think he's a homer at all though. Musburger is one of my favorites

Agreed.

He's really only a fan of whatever team he has bet on for that specific game.

He's still working? Him and Cotlar should get a show together.

Brent went straight down Jim Delany's pants when the clock hit zero, though.

The only reason for Delany to be celebrating is that one of his "original" teams finally won a bowl game.

It was really embarrassing the way he went on about the big ten just because they didn't get skunked in all their bowl games this year. This will be 11 straight years for the big ten to not have a winning record in bowl games

Him and Herbstreit both Big 10 homers.

I think Herbie is wayyyy more straight laced than that. A lot of tOSU people don't even care for him because he's picked against them in the past.

My old man has been a Hawkeye fan longer than Musberger has been calling games, and he hates him. BM is not a Big 10 homer, but he does have schools he likes to pump.

Probably Iowa State fans just once again being self-conscious. Brent Mustberger doesn't do a lot of Iowa State games but does a lot of Big 10 games, so when he gets excited during a Big 10 game he must be a Big 10 schill. The truth is Brent Mustberger gets excited about every game he does, even the Iowa State games.

Just one more example of "haters gonna hate".

Quite logical...but since when did logic have anything to do with a message board?

After hearing Keith Jackson do the opening I hoped more than ever that Brent would retire.

Getting BM out of the booth won't bring Keith Jackson back, but at least give me football Saturdays free from the same old BM garbage

The gold standard. I wish we could clone him.

This. There are a lot of homer commentators out there, and many of them work at ESPN. But Herbstreit isn't one of them. He's the best in the business, IMO.

I like Musberger, but I do wish we could have Jackson back. Pairing him with Herby would be awesome.
