Why did you choose to go to ISU?

I grew up in New Jersey - I decided to go into veterinary medicine - the closest vet schools were Ivy League and my grades weren't good enough. I got into ISU - probably for geographic diversity and acceptable exam scores. I didn't end up in vet med but I did find a farmer's daughter for a bride - we're celebrating our 39th anniversary this year. I also got a degree and went on to law school at Creighton. I have no regrets, do I dear?

I didn't know there were any other options. Best damn all around college on the planet! Started in Aerospace Engineering, breifed the business college and graduated in Landscape Architecture. Where else can you go to do that and not step out of one of the best programs in the nation? Of course it didn't hurt that I frequented B-Ball games in Hilton during the real magic years!

I didn't go to ISU . . . got a full scholarship to Iowa and didn't really want to go to school a few blocks from my parent's house. So I admit it, I am a UI alum. But my time in Iowa City only increased my hatred for the Hawkeyes.

I still go here, it was the only real option because of money and because I have been an Iowa State fan my entire life because my Dad went to school here back in the day.

I went to Iowa State because I grew up 7 miles south of Ames and I felt the undeniable urge of nationalism, Cyclone Nationalism that is. Also Pete Taylor, he was the man. Also, the industrial engineering school. There things I'd change about the place, but nothings perfect that'd be boring.

I must admit ISU was my last choice. I was all ready to head to UNI and even considered Iowa my back-up choice. When my girlfriend got accepted to a tough to get into medical program at Iowa Methodist in Des Moines, I decided to attend ISU so I could be closer to her. Whipped, I know. It all worked out though because today we are married with 2 kids, both have good jobs and both are huge ISU fans who attend most football games. I remember growing up a hawkeye fan HATING the Clones. Now, I am a big Clone fan. I don't hate the hawks, but don't root for them either. I still have a little hawkeye deep down in my belly that sneaks out every so often. I'm on some good medication to control it though........

Grew up in western Wisconsin a die-hard Badger fan. Found out in high school that UW has no Aerospace Engineering program, so I wound up getting accepted to Minnesota, Purdue, and Iowa State. Minnesota was too close and I didn't like the area of town, Purdue was a haul from the Twin Cities. I came to ISU, loved the campus, and got a tour of the brand-spanking-new Howe Hall and the Aero E department (something neither Purdue nor Minnesota offered me), along with a partial scholarship offer. Sold.
