This ought to be interesting with all of the Cubs fans around here:) I think this is a discussion I'll just sit back and watch while eating some popcorn...

I'll start.....So far this year has been what I expected. They are playing well but still have a lot of room for improvement. Guys like Crede, Dye, and Pierzynski are having better offensive numbers than last year but their bullpen seem to be a little more suspect, especially Politte. I do like the addition of Thome even though he seems to be striking out a lot lately. They also seem to be having a lot more mental errors then last year. Not executing bunts, baserunning errors, not covering first etc...they just didn't do that stuff last year. Detroit seems to be for real (even though they currently are on a 4 game losing streak) because of good pitching. But the Chisox have the team to win the division or make the playoffs again and go far in the playoffs because of their superior starting pitching.

Yea, smoke like that from the left side is hard to come by. I'd much rather see him in there against a tough lefty late in the game than I would Cotts right now. How about Jenks' "Uncle Charlie" pitch? After you see a couple of 98s wiz by you, that thing just isn't fair!

I think we are too used to the White Soxs not making any mental errors because of the unbelievable way they excuted last year. This year is what I expected from them so far.

Pitching has been decent. I'm disappointed in Garcia and Garland so far this year. Garcia's record doesn't indicate how poorly he's done in the couple games I saw him pitch. Maybe the WBC has something to do with it but I had a feeling from the end of last year that he wasn't going to have as strong as a season we are used to from him.
Garland better start getting better quick but indications fromt he announcers is that he had a pretty good outing in Toronto although he gave up like 5 runs or something. I wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy challenges him for his starting spot soon.
What's up with Buerhle leaving the ball up in that one inning he got rocked against the Indians? He seems to have one of those innings every outing now. He better start stepping it up not only cuz he's the Ace of the team but he's also on my fantasy team.

The bullpen is the big ? of this season to my surprise. Pollite needs to re-focus or something cuz I see more of Nelson and less of Cliffy. Thornton is for real. Wow. We got a righty and lefty that can hit 100 is pretty damn amazing. It's time to use only McCarthy, Cotts, Thornton, and Jenks..maybe sprinkle a little of Nelson in there.

Detroit is not for real. Maybe a couple years and then they could be the contending for the Central but I think we have a dynasty building in the south side of Chi-town.

It was also apparently announced that Mack/Anderson will platoon. I think Anderson should start everyday, but that's just me.

Anderson is batting .164....36 strikeouts in 110 AB..tought to play him everyday. If u watch his ABs..he doesn't look comfortable at all. Maybe platooning is what's best for him for now, hopefully he turns out like Crede like someone posted.

I already think we've lost at least two games (the Cubs one sticks out in my mind) because he wasn't out there.

I think he's a better CF than Rowand, defensively.

Hey where'd u get the starting line-up at?

Uribe needs to stop swinging at the first pitch and trying to hit it out of the universe.

Treated myself to a game a couple weeks ago - drove up to minn to watch the friday night game. BIG mistake. That was the night we got stomped 10 - 1. Santana vs. Garland. I've been very disappointed in him this year. He won 18 games for us last year? I was so disappointed that I got online and ordered tickets for the Sunday night game (was on ESPN that night). Got to see that inning where buehrle gave up 7 in the first inning after a rare back to back set of errors. That was the night of the triple play too.

Anyone else feel cheated by not being able to see white sox games live on tv? Wgn has what...20 or 30 over the season? Who needs the cards on fsn eh? gimme my comcast! ....can't even watch on mlb.tv because of blackout restrictions? Who in major league baseball thought all that up anyways? keeping me from being able to donate to their healthy inflow of income....

NO S$%T..i already posted on another thread about how they have that worthless FSN Midwest. I ordered MLB.tv thinking that i could watch soxs games but quickly found out about that blackout restriction crap. Good thing they have like a trail period so i cancelled it.

I wonder if there is anything I can do to make them change it back to Comcast...

I am a Cardinals fan living in Chicagoland and enjoy watching the Sox. But I'm posting to tell of my experience over the last 2 days as I am working in Cleveland. I'm at the Ritz and expected the Sox to be here and they were. I went to the game Tuesday night and saw a good game even though they lost. AJ and Pods were benched because CC was pitching. Last night I go to get on the elevator after working and the game was over and DJ gets on with me. i say "hi DJ" and he chats with me for awhile which was cool. In the hotel bar are Dye and someone else with some groupies. Ozzie with Freddie and a few other latin players at a table. Pauly was sitting with an older gentleman that I didn't recognize as a coach. Uribe and another guy were standing at the bar. I wanted badly to go say hello to Pauly but I refrained. Today around noon I was in the hall on my floor by the elevator talking on the phone and Ozuna and Contreras come and wait for the elevator. I say "Jose you pitching tonight (knowing he was)" and he says yes to which I responded "good luck" and he gave me a genuine "thanks man." So then I have to go to the front desk and on the way down Farmer gets on the elevator with his golf clubs. In the lobby Buerle was talking to someone and signing some documents - like a marketing deal or something. As I'm waiting at the front desk Raines is ahead of me in line. Anderson and Jenks walk by announcing they are going to Panera Bread to eat. So now I'm going back up and Politte gets off the elevator. I get off on my floor and almost collide with Jeff Nelson as he's getting on. Walking down the hall and AJ is giving his bags to the bellman. That's about it. It was pretty neat. Other than saying something to Jose and talking to DJ I refrained from doing the "fan" act on the players. I'm guessing I'll be seeing the Angels players soon.

Jenks might have been going after the large picture of bread on the front of the building.

Cotts gave up a HR.

Things are not looking so good in the bullpen..hopefully it's just a hiccup.
