Started at ISU in Fall 2005, still here. (Probable graduation Fall 2010.) Lived in Friley Lorch-Russell for all four years so far, looking at a fifth. Lived with Flag Guy and Superfan for two years.
Would love to move out into a party house, but three things keep me from doing that:
1) I'm a music major- I have an INSANE daily schedule, have to be at Music Hall at all hours of the day and night. Can't afford to have a 20+ minute commute and rely on a bus to get home. I would only eat once a day b/c I don't have time to cook for myself.
2) I'll be going into a master's program for collegiate student services, so I'm involved in national residence hall government and administration. It's something I love to do and it prepares me for grad school or a career, but it requires me to stay in the res halls.
3) I am crazy social and rely on always having lots of people around. You definitely do not get that in an apartment or house.
Random thoughts after reading 11 pages:
I can't believe how many Towers residents there are, and how few Friley residents there are.
Only one wing of Helser got demolished for the UDCC. Friley can't cut through the first floor anymore- all the exterior doors on all buildings are locked except the main entrance.
Knapp and Storms may have been imploded, but all of the houses got moved elsewhere. Out of the 20 houses, I believe only 4 were eliminated. A few are in Martin, most of Knapp is now in Buchanan. Never fear, your house still lives on! (MacRae and Maney are both in Buchanan, since I remember those being mentioned.)
