I had Tesla FSD for 4 years and hardly ever used it. I enjoy driving myself as well, especially if it’s a car that drives like a Mach E GT.

But I have found the Autopilot on Tesla and Ble Cruise on Ford very useful on longer highway drives. I feel like I don’t get as tired if I use them for parts of a long trip.
I find autopilot(Not FSD) on the Tesla not great overall if you're someone that passes a lot. It needs to be able to turn back on automatically when I switch lanes. The only solution is to camp in the left(passing) lane, which I'm not going to do. It does a great job on lane centering and speed adjustments.

Also, parking with the latest Tesla's is a complete joke and pretty much worthless. We've went back to the tennis ball in the garage method, which is an embarrassment in 2023.

Tesla Model Y lease for around $500 per month w/$0 down and short delivery time…very tempting.
Here in Colorado (not sure where else this is available) a Nissan Leaf 36 month lease is $1089 down and $129/month. I have a 2021 Leaf and it has been a great vehicle for us. With a solar home we’re not spending much for our local travels.

What a hell of a deal. This would be such a great commuting option. I assume that combines the federal and state incentive. I bet you could get a Model 3 really cheap as well.

After using Blue Cruise, I very much prefer it over Tesla’s Autopilot. Blue Cruise is much closer to how I would drive myself, plus on most highways it’s hands free. Autopilot at times was pretty abrupt for my liking. Like if you see traffic stopped from afar you’d slowly come to a stop. Autopilot would keep going at a high speed and break harder than it needs to after getting too close. Stop and go traffic and centering is fine though.

I thought this was interesting. The UAW deal with Stellantis lays out coming PHEV and BEV products. New stuff starting in 2024 and something new pretty much every year through 2028.

Yesterday Lucid joined nearly everyone else and went with NACS. I believe it's just the VW group and Stellantis (What a terrible naming decision) who are holding out.

Those Lucids look amazing but I just read somewhere that Tesla has more chargers in the U.S. than Lucid has cars.

NACS seems like where the industry is going to land. If a person was on the fence about buying a BEV I'd probably wait until that charging port becomes standard across the board.

There are a LOT of the non-Tesla kind of connectors already in CA, whatever it's called.

Might be a small industry going around and switching the connector without having to throw out the whole charging station.

Lots of people making dongles (man I love that word) to go from a CCS charge port to a NACS charger but I haven't seen one go the other way. Then again I haven't looked very hard for one either.

Not a electric car owner but have seen a couple of those Lucids around. Sharp cars.

There are a lot of non NACS chargers across the U.S.. The problem is they tend to be trash. Either low powered or unreliable. Adding a NACS to thosee chargers isn't going to help those two problems.

Drove home with a new Chevy Bolt EUV. Allegedly Chevy is going to pay to have my 6-30 wiring in my garage to 14-50 with a new plug. Will have to figure out about NACS vs CCS and J-plug charging in the future.

Don't have it all figured out yet.

I haven’t seen those yet, or at least I think not but I see the Rivian trucks often. That’s about the only EV I’d consider buying, then I see the price tag and nope.

It’s hard for me to imagine every brand new non Tesla charging station in CA is garbage. Just seems unfortunate timing since brand new charging stations are everywhere and pretty much none of them other than Tesla’s own have the nacs connector. I see Teslas in those spots though so adapters must be easy, for whatever reason I never think to look to see the actual adapters.

It’ll be great timing for other states where the ev boom is still a few years into the future and even for CA it’s better now than 3 years from now.

You're right, they are not all garbage, just a lot of them a when you're dependent on them, it sucks. Watch this to get an idea of what a cluster **** some of these chargers are

The R2 will be for you :)
That price tag is more reasonable but it’ll certainly go above MSRP. I’m not very confident on being an early adopter. My biggest issue with these companies is you can’t just take it to the dealership if you have issues.
