Have always wanted that car that I put 200,000+ miles on it but thus far have only made it to 120,000 on an old 1987 Pontiac GrandAm which is long gone.

Who are the high milers?

My Dad had a 1988 Ford F-250 with the inline 6 cylinder, manual transmission he hit 290,000 before the floors started to rust out completely out. That was a good truck.

How much replacement/maintenance did it take in the later years?

Well, he had put in a different motor and I think 2 transmissions? Other than that, I dont think he had to do too much outside of normal stuff. I was young though, so I didnt pay too much attention to all that stuff. He used it as his mail vehicle for a long time, so I thought it was pretty impressive.

A Chevy S10 Blazer 350,000+ miles. Original engine all the way, rebuilt tranny once at 120,000 miles. Have never traded in or sold a car with less than 150,000 miles. Had one totaled in an accident at 120,000 miles.

2002 Ford Explorer 180k miles. Gave it to my dad to keep at the cabin. Bought an Envoy with 117k miles and plan to ride it to about 170k and then buy a late model used Subaru.

My second truck. A Dodge Ram 1500 I took it up to 185k before the transmission started slipping. I just said hell with it and didn't wanna fix it. Bought the thing for $800 and I drove it 60k miles. I redid the brakes and some minor fixes like aircon and cruise control. Sold it for $2200 to some guy on Craigslist. He didn't even wanna test drive it.

Bought a 1993 Mazda Protégé new and got 260K. Then I traded it for a new 2003 Mazda Protégé that I currently have. It has 240K. I'm hoping to get another 20K before looking for another Mazda. Zoom Zoom.

I bought a 1999 Lexus with 205K on it for $500 to drive to a job I was commuting too. My nephew ended up with it at 213K and it was still running and driving great. My brother took it to his mechanic and was told the engine was is amazing condition for the miles, so it may go a lot longer.

I put 130K on a 2001 Tiburon from 2001-2009. Put 120K on my Kia Optima from late 2009-Now. Most I ever spent on either were for tires. Had a seized e-brake cable on the Tiburon in 2008, I guess that was a bit of a problem, $60 part.

I kind of drive a lot.
