Flobots at People's Court. Great venue, great live band, and their violinist isn't bad either.

I would have to say mine is Phish New years Millenium show in the Everglades. Rocked for 3 days and on NYE they played from 11:50pm to 7:00 am, AWESOME SHOW!!!!!
The Police reunion tour in 2008!

I have a feeling, however, if I'd been a Pink Floyd fan back then and had seen the show in Ames in '94 my answer would be different.

McCartney in Ames was pretty sweet too.

I agree with a lot of you on this board, shows at the Jack were great. Here are my favorite concerts in no particular order.

1. Pink Floyd at Jack
2. U2 at Jack
3. Rolling Stones at Jack x2, they put on a great show. I also saw them in Shanghai, China, they had to edit their playlist because the government wouldn't let them play a few songs.
4. Live Earth in NY at Giants Stadium. I was in 10th row. Unbelievable day of music.
5. Probabably get beat up for this one..... Beyonce, in Shanghai.... She puts on a good show, I went because I was in China and I went to every concert that came to town (Stones, Eric Clapton, James Brown, and Roger Waters). I went into the concert with no expectations and came out very impressed.

Oh yeah, forgot the numerous Dave Matthew concerts. I like his music so enjoy his shows. I just saw him in Wrigley and that was a great show.

I've also been to Mr. AZ twice and think he is great live.

You, Me, and Everyone We Know at Paddy's (Fall '08). They played in DSM earlier that night and went on in Ames around midnight.

Dave Matthews Band at Wrigley, Sept 18th 2010. Just an awesome show, and opening act was Jason Mraz. Only damper on the evening was that some dude tried to plant a bomb as the concert was letting out.

Billy Joel and Elton John at Hilton around 2003 or 2004 was a hell of a good show also.

1992 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis:
Guns N' Roses / Metallica double headlining tour, with opening act Faith No More. Concert lasted 8 hours

Unbelievable.

anything at 8150 in vail colorado. it was the one remaining "hole in the wall" in vail until 2007 i believe. it had a wooden floor that spanned out a ways from the stage, when people got to rockin' the floor would literally dip in the center a few inches and so if you just stood there you would just bob up and down.

saw:
the reverend horton heat (2)
split lip rayfield (2)
that one guy (1)

then of course because vail is a money hoarding, soul sucking, only the rich can hang here type of place, they eventually tore it down and put up another resort hotel or some bs place that looks exactly like the rest of vail...soulless, empty and fake. that place was literally the only dirty place in vail to go hang out and drink.

Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper, and Jurassic 5 with a special appearance by Neil Young to sing 'Rockin in the Free World' at Hilton...epic

That was a good concert.

But I still had a better time at Flogging Molly at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines.
