It didn't look pretty, and Iowa State's loaded with flaws, but there's no such thing as a bad win when it comes against a rival or it comes on the road. Iowa State got both on Saturday, making big plays down the stretch to make it happen."

The front seven looked like it had never seen a zone read before, giving up 59 points to a still-learning Arizona team in a 59-38 loss. The defense was missing its coordinator, Bill Young, who is dealing with a health issue, but the Cowboys might end up looking pretty mediocre in a very deep Big 12 if the turnovers and penalties don't cease. Worse than committing four turnovers? Forcing zero. The Cowboys didn't get a single takeaway in the desert on Saturday night after forcing 44 last season.

This could be a very good thing for us.

Very true, as long as the mistakes correct themselves over the season.

I stick to my initial thoughts and believe if you genuinely believed the Hawkeyes were going to win this game, you don't have much right calling yourself a football expert. I understand Kinnick, but honestly, that's the only thing they had going for them this weekend. We ****** that game down our leg and still managed to win. Their offense is about as inept as they come in the BCS, and that's saying a lot coming from an ISU fan.

As I also stated, I wouldn't have been surprised if Iowa did win, I didn't think it would be a blowout, but looking at these two teams unbiased how could you not think ISU was the better team? Taht being said, I hope we continue under the radar.

Then proceeds to not pick us to go to a bowl game because he doubts our ability to win 3 Big 12 games. Which by the way we've done all 3 of the past seasons. Of those 9 wins only one (Nebby) has now left the conference. The other 8 victories came against teams still in the Big 12.

9. Iowa State (2-0, last week: 9) I hear you, Cyclones. Tulsa and Iowa are better than the two teams Texas Tech beat. Yes. But man, Iowa State can look bad at times. More often, it look determined, with a defense that has turned the game in two consecutive weeks. Both times, it was a huge play from Jake Knott. Texas Tech hasn't done enough to allow the Cyclones to leap over them, but making it to 2-0 at this point is no small accomplishment. Only Western Illinois stands between Iowa State and Texas Tech on Sept. 29, so we'll settle this debate on the field then.
