What the hell is going on with this ad bar on the top of CF

I've said it before I really do wish I could support CF by not using an adblocker but the site is impossible to use without one anymore.

I don't subscribe to many things, but I decided a long time ago that given the ridiculous number of hours I spend on this cite, it's worth the $12/month premium subscription. If you can afford to be a premium subscriber, one of the nicest perks is that all the ads disappear.
I used to subscribe until my payments were discontinued for some reason (might have been an issue with PayPal).

Part of the reason I haven't resubscribed is a resistance to the idea that "if you want the site to be usable, you're going to need to pay."

For me it isn't so much resistance.........it's not necessary. Having multiple kids go/going to ISU the last 5 years who are good friends with players, don't need premium for "breaking" news.

I understand that everything cannot and should not be free......but to F those who can't or don't want to pay with this constant barrage of BS adds trying to nudge them into paying is well.........BS.

Some don't even participate in discussions..........just like to read what's going on and don't care if they are on the cutting edge. Well, not when every time you try and click or read something the screen freezes of shifts for some worthless add.

Like right now........the screen froze for about 10 seconds, but the adds just kept coming. It's a joke.

The site has become almost unusable. Ads covering half your screen. Page reloading as you are typing a comment. It’s joke. Plus, I will never be influenced to purchase something from a pop up ad. In fact, it makes me less likely to ever purchase a product from them n

as a website manager/editor/designer I can confirm there are significantly better and more profitable ad configurations that could be used to generate profit. The space available for ads at the top could be used more effectively - I would recommend trashing the EDGE/Google Ad bottom banner and instead split the ad space at the top in half. While a thick top banner is not ideal it is vastly superior to this add window experience where you have top, bottom overlays with a right side embed. The ad revenue you're pulling in for clicks on that bottom one is in no way worth the adverse experience. I monetizing a website but for sure this is not something you see on most similar websites so maybe just remove/relocate the bottom overlay ad space.
