The game was 4 days ago now. Where do you stand?

1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Personally I'm stuck somewhere between Bargaining and Depression, and I think I'll be there until the Iowa game. I really believed before Saturday that weren't the old Iowa State Football anymore. But after the game I know we aren't totally over that hump and who knows if we ever truly will be. I'm not quite ready to accept that yet. I'm still bargaining that maybe it was just a really crappy outing from our guys and we're going to come roaring back and win 5-6 games this season while being really depressed that maybe we still are Iowa State Football.

I think whatever happens in the Iowa Game I'll have moved on to acceptance by the time the last whistle blows. Either we're in for a totally horrible season or Rhoads and the coaches will have turned things around. Either way I'll be cheering for the team every week. I might just not be wearing my ISU gear quite as much in the middle of Hawk country.

Acceptance. We have a young and inexperienced team. I'm hoping for growth this year with bigger and better things to come in 2014 and beyond.

Acceptance. This started after the third straight touchdown. After that, I was actually pleased that the defense got it back together for the most part. We knew that side of the ball was going to be a learning experience. I'm hopeful that the stalling of the offense had more to do with rust than anything else.

Acceptance. We will be bad this year, win 2-3 games, Lazard will still come but one or two of the other guys he recruited for us will bail, and we'll be back to bowl contention next year depending on QB play and if Mess is still OC.

Acceptance within about 30 minutes of ISU losing. When I started going to games over 15 years ago I would get all upset over loses. I'm at the point in my life with Cyclone football to just roll with it. Me being in a bad mood and frustrated isn't going to do anything for the team. I can tell you this, if it wasn't for the tailgating I wouldn't have been a season ticket holder for the last 15+ years. I also know that it's going to take a near miracle for ISU to be a top team on a regular basis.

Yeah, I'm in acceptance. However, I'm worried about the recruits. It's one thing to come to a program that is on the rise and another to have a program take two steps back.

Still at depression. I can't get over the high likelihood that this season is going to really, really suck going forward and the odds of a bowl game are really low.

Depression/acceptance. A little anger mixed in - why in the hell didn't we find some JC LB/DL recruits to help out!

As I get older, I've gotten better about trying to detach myself emotionally from the outcome from ISU games... but I'm still a huge football fan and it just really blows to spend 8 months waiting impatiently for football to return only to be greeted by this stinker. Once the guys get back out on the field with the chance to win again, I'll be fine, but until then I'll probably stay in depression.

Just have to remind myself that there's no point in getting hung up on the outcome of a game to which I contributed nothing. But being surrounded by UT and A&M fans sure makes it tough to forget about how terrible ISU is at football compared to the blue bloods.

Anger. I don't want to be the old Iowa State anymore. I thought (hoped, I guess) we were past losing to teams like UNI.

Acceptance. I'm very curious for the next game to start. I don't think they can play that bad again and i am hoping to see this team be competitive. I think they have the players to do it they just need a lot of work. I've steped off of the ledge with the reasoning that UNI plays everyone tough and we can't play that bad again. Not sure if I'm right but its what is best for my mental status right now.

I'm not sure I'm even on this spectrum. Our problems on offense are so scary to me it's like I'm hit with the loss every day I wake up. I'm on whatever number comes before 1.

Acceptance. Young team and unless something drastically changes it's going to be a long season. Still will probably break a different remote every other game though. I'm sorry but I'm ready for basketball

5. Acceptance at halftime when I stopped watching...I went through the others fast. I recorded in case things changed. I heard they didn't.

I can't predict any particular wins and will be pleasantly surprised when we do win one or more.

I was at 1 for a short time. 2 and 3 were a blur. Spent the longest time in 4, and I think the buck stops there. Acceptance for something like this just won't be happening for me.
