What is your strategy for reading the CF message board?

I hang out mostly on the Cyclone Report message boards. They get quite a bit of traffic, but it's possible to scan through every post, so you don't really need a strategy for reading threads. I occasionally stop over at Cyclone Fanatic and am quickly overwhelmed with the volume of posts and don't really know where to start. Threads can get hundreds of posts and there can be dozens of threads each day. I usually check out the Recent Posts list of threads and see if there is anything of interest.

But I wonder if there is a better strategy for reading this board. Does it make more sense to start with the Football forum or Basketball forum and go from there? Or are there some favorite forums that get all your attention and you ignore the rest? Or, I don't think it's possible, but do you scan everything?

It may seem like a stupid topic, but the volume of posts on CF demands some kind of plan of attack. I'd like to know how people go about reading the forums on CF, what you read first and what if anything you ignore.

I click on alerts to see if someone has replied to one of my posts. Then, I click New Posts and read the first page of posts on topics that interest me. I continue reading all posts if it stays on topic (or at least interesting). Occasionally, I drop into the last page of the megathreads or the threads kept going by trolls to see if they are actually on topic (they usually aren't).

Also, I try to go to the homepage each day to make sure I don't miss featured articles or podcasts.

I typically scan through the main page and see if any of the threads I've been following have new information. I typically don't do a deep dive into particular forums, as I figure if it's a big deal it will be on the front page. Occasionally, I'll check out the home page, news and podcasts page to see if I missed anything important.

I usually check the recent posts, but I visit almost every day so that's pretty much got the newest stuff. If it's been a while I'll check the Football, Men's Basketball and Off Topic Forums.

I opted out of the cave. When I feel like I want some drama I'll check out In-State Rivals.

Also check the front page to see the newer article and podcasts that might interest me.

Make sure you have opted out of the instate ******** and the political forum, cleans the forums recent posts page up. One reason I left Cyclone Report was the handful of regulars who dragged politics into everything. At least one of them is here but thankfully doesn't hang out much in the sports forums. Also the "insiders" seemed to want everyone to kiss their rings for every little tidbit they pooped out into a message, whether is was good info or total ********.

I start with the main page for the main stories, then open the forums. I skim the titles and look for something that looks interesting. I'm usually just looking for something to make me laugh. I don't have near the time that I used to. I leave the heavy convos for others.

Psyche, just show up, if it interests you take a look. You will find out VERY quickly if it is of your worth diving in on.

Very different from CR, but we are all in the same family.
