This thread is a perfect example of how far this site has fallen. Some of you need to get a f'in grip.

Want to complain? Talk to Jamie and make your money heard but don't drag the rest of us into your pathetic, depressive state.

Tell you what, when the program actually resembles something of what a P5 should, I'll gladly STFU. And honestly, I've not been that bad. I could certainly be worse.

How about you STFU until football season, or at least spring ball. The fact that you have to try and bring everyone down on every football related thread is just pathetic. If our football program disgusts you this much, then stop logging in to CF, and especially stop responding to football threads. And honestly, you are that bad, and you could probably be worse but I would hope there isn't an Iowa State fan that is that big of a D-Bag.

I'm so very sorry that my posts upset you that much. Just block me and pretend like I don't exist. I can take a dump on the football program just the same as those the choose to pump sunshine. Not everyone had to have to same opinions.

I'm honestly going to be so ****** if Shaw comes here.

Really thought I had a shot at walking on and starting at RB. If this dude comes here I'm going to have to be his Alex Moran.

Wait. Is there any evidence the staff or Lazard has even ever spoken to this guy. This whole thread developed out of a tweet from Lazard simply asking for love from fans for this guy, right?

He visited Monday I guess

Does anyone know who is recruiting this kid? I am impressed that we made our way into one of the more prestigious programs in Alabama.

I am negative about the football program. There's nothing good about it. This last season was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. For the first time in my life, I was completely uninterested in the football team. Whether I was in the stands or at home watching, it didn't matter. Now, to have that same damn product thrown out in front of us this coming season. It's an odd combination of disinterest and disgust, for me.

And youll be back next year when we have a decent(bowl eligible) team again.

It's really weird to see such strong opinions from someone who doesn't care about football. Obviously that part wasn't true.

Read back a few pages to my response to Adam. Your answer lies there.

Here's the thing, I've been supportive of this program all the way until about midway through this last season. Check my post history if you're so inclined. Actually, I was always very positive about the program. And then the AD decided to not take the program seriously by retaining the coaching staff. That made me pretty salty towards the program. I've watched something I've loved for many, many years go further into the toilet. I just cannot get on-board with the staff.

You don't upset me, I'm just sick of the ******** on this site trying to take positive threads down just because they think they are funny and looking for the I told you so moment. Its easy to **** on the program and tell everyone we suck, that way if we end up winning you can say I don't care I was wrong, at least we are winning. Just start your own Debby downer thread on every topic so you and the other Debby's can get together and **** on the program. Then we can leave an original, positive post, stay for the sunshine pumpers. Not everyone has to have the same opinions but you go out of your way to **** on these new recruits when you know nothing about them. Its obvious you do it cuz you think you are funny and probably get a half-staff for riling people up, but its just sad.

This post makes you seem really upset. Which, of course, is fine. You're obviously a young guy and emotions are tough to keep in check. I get that. I was a young buck once myself.

To the bolded part, I state my position. If you think humor is involved, then you have an odd sense yourself. You think I enjoy the football program being the LCD in all of P5 football? Please. I've spent countless hours and dollars going to games, tailgating, etc. When you invest into a product, you have certain expectations. My (low) standards can't even be met. This is where my frustration blossoms from. I'm actually mildly surprised that more people aren't more upset with the condition of the program.

Whoa maybe you're the one who should step away from the boards for awhile if you take things this seriously. Everyone has opinions. This is a place people come to share them. When you consider the results you shouldn't be surprised that there are some fans who question the decision to retain this coaching staff. Why? Because if next season is another disappointment and Rhoads is let go then it's just kicking the can further down the road so to speak. Just because that's his opinion doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to share it anymore than you shouldn't be allowed to share your opinion.

Here's the thing with Rhoads. When he arrived at ISU he ignited the fan base by overachieving in his first few years. The Debby Downers, as you like to call them, have some good points. He won the majority of his games with recruits he didn't bring in. His staff did bring the last couple years worth of recruits in and they have been responsible for their development. Either they aren't developing well enough or they aren't recruiting well enough. Whatever they've done hasn't produced results. Let's not pretend like the bar is set too high here. Most ISU fans would be thrilled with 6-7 wins. The fact these past two years haven't even come close to that is pretty disappointing, and in my opinion it is 100% warranted that some fans may feel like Pollard is simply wasting time by retaining Rhoads for yet another year.

Now I'm sure you'll retort with something like... "Well ya I know they have a point, but my point is what good does it do to share it if you're going to be negative?". That's what the message boards are for. If you can't handle it, which the tone of your previous couple posts implies, then don't be afraid to step away. People disagree. People have discussions. Live with it.

There's a little fire with the smoke. Wisconsin has 3 RB's in this class, as well as a handful of athletes, and have a pretty young stable ahead of those three.

With Nealy gone this opens the door for another running back. Besides Thomas could always be converted to LB if things don't work out at RB.

Wisconsin also just had 2 conerbacks decommit so it happens every where.

What I don't get is why Wisconsin had 4 running backs committed and then still brought Thomas in on an official with a commitable offer. Do they really want 5 rbs in a class. If Nealy rumors are true it makes sense having an additional back this class and would be a great opportunity to play right away.

I have no problem with anyone being upset with the state of the program and with grading out Rhoads' past two seasons. They speak for themselves.

An error was made on the replacement of Herman. Combined with poor recruiting (a lot due to the near-demise of the Big XII) and it was a perfect crap-storm against us. Also, I believe the program did not do what was needed on the defensive side of the ball to insure we had the appropriate type of players ready to step in & play. This goes beyond what was stacked against us and was simply a failure, period.

Despite this, last year's recruiting class was a notch above what we had drawn in. D'Vario Montgomery was added. The Mangino's, Eggen, Ayeni, & Linguist were brought on the staff. These have been pretty big moves.

Now, after the worst season we are experiencing a pretty good stretch in recruiting yet on the threads speaking of the recruits we get a diatribe on the state of the program or these ballsy one-line zingers thrown in. Whether you want Rhoads to succeed or not, it shouldn't matter. If he is not the man to do it, that is what will happen. However, whoever comes in next may like to have good players around and these recruits being added may just be those guys who make the difference for the next coach. In the end, it is being pro-ISU and the recruits being sought after coming down the stretch could be big, big difference makers for the team.

Joshua Thomas? A year ago he was heavy-lean Tennessee, then after they obtained their 40 commits JT looked elsewhere & chose us over Wisconsin & Georgia Tech. Bradrick Shaw? Would be the highest late-recruiting season flip to ISU I could ever think of & is from a powerhouse HS in Alabama. Josh Coleman? A DT with a great highlight video but with little to no offers but right after committing to us that same night receives an offer from Missouri. Hakeem Butler? A physical, 6'6"-6'7" WR with intriguing video & has a reported offer from Houston.

Post all of the negative, anti-Rhoads or whomever floats your boat that day in a separate thread & go at it. Rock that sucker up past the mega-realignment thread, I don't care. As to threads on current or prospective commits, it would be nice & more constructive to focus on that fact alone. If they are good/great, we should want these players regardless of who coaches them 2 years from now.
