What is the status of the area between SEZ and Reiman Gardens?

I haven't been to Ames since the Spring Game in April and won't get there until the UNI game. Does anyone have an update on the progress of the work being done between the SEZ and Reiman? Pics would be cool. Last time I was there they were installing lots of large drainage pipes.

Having just moved to Florida, I too would also like an update. Thanks in advance!

The project is underway but not much to see right now. The area that is being renovated has fencing around it but mostly just dirt being moved so far. There are 2 structures that look to be brick type columns being constructed at the entrance to the parking lot near the traffic lights. That's about it for right now.

They didn't exactly go at it during the off season. It was already just a big hole at the end of last year. Wonder if they were waiting on final designs or something.

Have they fixed any holes in the parking lots north of the stadium???? Last year my cooler and directors chair fell into a hole and we never saw it again.

Reconstruction of that lot is in the approval stage right now. Likely to happen either next summer or 2019.

So is this going to be where it says green space on the parking map or is this taking over an already existing parking lot? I asked someone last year why they kept the lawn and didn't add parking and was told they had a reason for wanting to keep it a lawn.

I'm all for this but it seems kinda funny they are removing a grass lot for concrete and a water feature and calling it the green space project. Maybe they mean green as sustainable. Still looks cool and will be a great visual driving in.

It was a parking lot previously, that was removed during the SEZ construction. The University is planning to add more parking/RV amenities east of University Blvd to account for the lost parking and potentially a pedestrian bridge/tunnel across University Blvd.

I know that JP sent out an email back in December announcing this, but I don't remember hearing/reading any more information since. Anyone know how these plans are progressing? Is this something that will be ready for 2018?

^^It is currently in the approval stage and will go before the BOR for approval in the near future. If approved I would guess 2019 for completion.

It will be nice to have a finished product inside and around the stadium. If that ever happens.
