It's a long season and in most systems it happens. So what!? ISU still has a basketball team that will win some more games...I promise!

Honestly, let the purp nurp have their day again. They wont be there in March.

ISU bball will be fine.

First NDSU leads us til late first half, then a very mediocre Buffalo team plays us nip and tuck the first 30 minutes, then a borderline top 35 Iowa team leads us by 20 well into the 2nd half on our home court, then a terrible, terrible, terrible, Arkansas Pine Bluff team plays us tough for 40 minutes, then we lose on a 'neutral' court to a UNI team with losses to Colorado State, Richmond, and New Mexico...

We are either overrated or extremely mentally soft...there are no 'and, if's, or, buts' about it, and it's insane that this has to be a topic after last year and all the so called "lessons" this group learned.

We are an extremely talented experienced group playing garbage basketball...it's not like this is a group of freshmen or newcomers adjusting to D1 ball.

It's time to put up or shut up.

Yep you can tout the 9-1 record but we have had a soft schedule so far and in too many games we have not looked good. When we can't hit from 3 pt (which has been often so far this year) we look very vulnerable.

We are probably slightly overrated and not 100% strong mentally. But you're exaggerating big time here. We are still a very good team and pretty damn strong mentally. For a team that doesn't have any first round draft prospects, we're extremely competitive.

To continue the "we are (might) be overrated" theme, I believe it's time for some folks to get their expectations in check. This team COULD accomplish a lot, but it is not a top ten team. We are what we have been over the last 3 years and nothing more. Consider this:

Niang '15 ≥ Niang '12-'13, but...
Hogue > Nadir
Tyrus > Thomas
(30 min of Kane + 10 min of Monte) > 40 minutes of Monte
Ejim ≥ McKay

Team defense '12,'13,'14 > '15 (Partly because we can't afford to foul.)

Considering the depleted roster and it's lack of proven 3-point specialists and lockdown defenders that Hoiberg left us, we should NOT be expecting the world. Prohm may be able to fix some of this, but the shear toll of the season doesn't bode well for conquering the Big 12 with an incomplete 7-man rotation.

We're a top 10 team, which means we will get everyone's best game. UNI shot 60% from three, 60!!, and we still had a chance to tie/win in the end.

We're probably 3rd best in a great conference, but still a very good team.

This. I'd like to know the number of teams that beat teams that shoot that many 3s and make 60% of them - I'm sure it would be very few.

Exactly the fact that we still probably should have won says a lot about this team.

Welcome to college basketball. You could say that about literally every team in the country. If UNI couldn't hit three's yesterday, they would have lost by 20. When any team can't hit outside shots they are going to look bad, or lose. That's pretty much been the story for ISU basketball the last 6 years.

Not sure what you're doing with that roster comparison.

Loved Ejim, but no.

There are problems with this team, Fred did not leave us in a great spot with almost no depth and several guys gone at the end of this season. Too many people think of him as the golden child and will not hold him accountable but will hold Prohm to the fire.

On that note, I do not know if it is Prohm or if this team isn't as good as we thought. The team has struggled all season. If Iowa was mentally tough or had a guy with a killer instinct we would have lost that game. There have been flashes of greatness this year for ISU, but only flashes.

I don't agree that they're extremely talented. There's plenty of teams out there with better shooters and more overall athleticism than ISU. UNI wasn't as athletic, but they were better shooters and played a lot smarter.

I've only caught a glimpse of Cincinnati, but from what I can tell they might rip ISU pretty good from an athletic stand point.

Their experience should be their biggest strength, but there's times when they play too selfish/out of control of things to show understanding that basketball is a team game.
