Here are the first quarter highlights:

Only a slight exaggeration. One of the threes we made was slightly contested a bit with a late runout. Maybe the worst defensive 10 minutes versus Iowa State that I have ever seen, teamed with us shooting a crazy % on those open shots.
I only caught the 4th quarter, but it sounds like Q1 was basically like Q1 UConn against us?

The analyst is a former ASU player. Probably didn't know Iowa State existed prior to this year.

Beyond not knowing Iowa State even existed though- at one point she made the comment “fouls and free throws are important”. Not disagreeing with the statement, but a bit more analysis beyond a general statement that 99% of basketball viewers know would have been great

I’ve tried a little bit but I just can’t. Part of it is women’s basketball in general for me, but our team. Good god sometimes it’s just like WTF?
Caitlin Clark mentioned it in her Time profile. The basketball IQ at the college level, between players, coaches, and referees, is much lower than you'd expect. I can never get over how wide the passing lanes are and the lack of team defensive principles. A lot of wide open players because they're only concerned with guarding their assigned offensive player. Very little anticipation. Anyways, I still watch every game because I love basketball and it says Iowa State on their jersey. This year has been maybe the most difficult watching experience of my life. Bad shooting, bad coaching, bad defense.

I don't want to pile on with the ridicule. She really shouldn't have been put in that situation. After a bit I felt sorry for her.

Looked up Emily's minutes game log. MTSU, UNI, Drake were 36, 37, 37.

Everything else has been 20-25 minutes. Wonder if those high minute games took more out of her than she thought.

Yep…Diew was the same thing we have now in someone like Hansford. Long and an offensive liability. Bristow showed so much promise, but was more like a freshman than any of the other fab five last year. That limited her minutes and so far this year it doesn’t appear to be much better.
Diew was much better than what Hansford has been. Diew could create and stretch a defense even if she wasn't hitting from outside. Hansford has contributed absolutely nothing. We finally got some help from the role players last night. Otherwise, the transfers have been a disaster. Addy Brown needs to get her head out of her ass. It feels like BF is losing the grip on this team.

The final score is wrong!
There was the fourth quarter delay when ISU's assistant coach had the heated exchange with the official scorekeeper. The announcers never really explained what was being questioned, though they suggested it was a score discrepancy.

This brings up something I've always been curious about...

I assume every team has someone tracking stats the whole game so they know what the score should be? I've seen several games where the scoreboard operator accidentally puts points on the other team but then will switch it back a few seconds later.

I've always wondered: if there's a dispute, how does anyone know what the official score should be? I presume the "official scorer" has the final say? What if they're wrong? You can always go back to the tape, but that would take a long time in the middle of a game.

Defense was not great last night but was nice to finally see someone other than the big 3 step up and hit some shots. Joens needs to keep starting, she hustles like crazy and improves the defense when she is on the floor. Good to see Jackson step up on offense and be more aggressive getting some shots off. If she can become that much needed 4th scorer that will help a lot. I keep saying it but I hope Reagan Wilson keeps getting more minutes. She pressures the ball on defense and is by far our quickest guard when on the floor. Looks confident when she is out that and I'd be OK with her taking a few more shots when she is in too. The ball definitely moves around the court more when she is in for Ryan.

Defense is going to be the biggest issue with this team. We saw it last night scoring 90 and still having to hold our breath in the last minute that we could hold on. If they can get some of the defensive issues fixed it will go a long ways to staying competitive in games because on a given night you never know how cold our offense is going to be.

Looking at scores tonight and games and to me it seems like overall the Women's game has dipped in how well the game is played. I did think there was more parity but this year not sure. Texas up by 50 on a ranked team. Hand fight in Chapel Hill between two ranked teams that barely combine to score 100 in OT. Other ranked teams go down. Did we have our College skill level crash with the loss of Caitlin Clark.

Our Clones have not looked very good but watching that UNC Duke game or OU Miss St I felt confident we could have won those games.

Just some random observations, was there too much hope for the women's game, has it mostly disappointed this year??

Her body language is terrible. Throws up a shot, if she misses, she takes a long time before lightly jogging back for defense. I can’t believe the coaches are tolerating it.
Addy Brown this year reminds me of watching Lexi Donarski during her final season at Iowa State. Lexi looked un-interested and never seemed to be fired up to play. During her time in Ames, her 3-Point percentage went from 41.1% to 37.1% to 31.8% her final season. Her rebounding and blocked shots fell off too...indicating a lack of hustle and desire. Of course, she played during the season where everything went through Ashley Joens (and Ashley just did not ever pass the ball that season).

This year we have Emily that dribbles for about 90% of our offense until she passes the ball to Audi Crooks. This is probably not the team that Addy signed up for. The same is probably true of our other shooters too. At least Addy is somewhat involved when we run our 3-on-5 offense were anybody not named Emily, Addy, or Audi only gets the ball passed to them when it becomes a broken play.

Maybe it is an Addy problem. Need to play every game otherwise sit and let others. She is the 2nd option on this team. Could be the first if she played as you said like she wanted to be out there.

Hmmm…you’re not watching the same team I am. Lots of good ball movement. Addy is working hard, but the shots aren’t falling. She still rebounds hard and has been racking up assists
