I agree cous and I don't think she would disregard the team just to get to number 1 in scoring. She is (as I posted in another thread) a person who wants the TEAM to win and is obvious by the number of times we have seen her get someone the ball for an assist when she could have just tried to force a shot.

Be VERY surprised if Carlton takes the top spot. Her averaging 30 per game means she is on her own and others are watching. That makes me nervous.

No worries, in conference play she is only averaging 16 FG attempts per game and almost 5 assists per game. 23 points per game on 16 attempts is really great production. Carleton is getting to the line a lot, almost three times as many free throw attempts in conference than anyone else on the team. The other four starters area all taking 8 to 9 attempts per game. Really good balance IMHO. I don't see us messing with what's working so well right now.

I'll create an updated post after every game.

Note: For "Rough Projection", I'm using 12 games (which would require winning three total games in the Big 12 Tournament and NCAA Tournament) multiplied by her per-game conference average, then rounding as needed.

Points
Current total: 1856
Average in conference games: 23.5
Rough projection: 2140
Result: #2 all-time

Current Top 5:
Welle 2149
Wilson 1875
Taylor 1866
Carleton 1856
Olson 1799

Bridget needs:
11 points to pass Taylor

144 points to hit 2000
294 to pass Welle

ISU remaining games:
7 regular season
1 to 3 Big 12 Tournament games
1 to 6 NCAA Tournament games

We will play at least 9 games, most likely we'll play 11-13 games, and we could play as many as 16 games. For Bridget to be ISU's all-time leading scorer, she'll have to average:

9 games: 32.7 ppg
10 games: 29.4 ppg
11 games: 26.7 ppg
12 games: 24.5 ppg
13 games: 22.6 ppg

Team stat for average margin of victory would have to be rather high this year (if such a thing exists). 18.9 on the season. 16.5 in conference.

Updated post after TCU game.

The game result may have sucked but two important things happened, one publicized and one not:

Here is what I have been able to dig up on career rebounding average.

The players who are not on the top 10 list but had a career rebounding average at 6.0 or above:
11 - 6.926 - Gileen Gleason
12 - 6.774 - Karry Crafton
13 - 6.331 - Tracy Gahan
14 - 6.311 - Desiree Francis
15 - 6.219 - Hallie Christofferson

Also note that Beth Greiman had an 8.6 rebound average her second and final year playing at ISU. Her first year ('75-'76) there was no rebounding information kept for her despite her playing 27 games and averaging 14.4 points a game.

So if Bridget finishes at 7.0 rpg, she will be alone at 11th; 6.9-6.8, 12th; and 6.7-6.4, at 13th.

We can worry about breaking ties when we know her final numbers.

EDIT: For the record Reile sits in 9th at 7.114 and Grimm in 10th at 7.070.

I'm honestly shaking my head at what Bridget has accomplished. When the discussion of her breaking Angie's record (my all time favorite player) I didn't think she could do it. The way this team is playing she should be able to get 4-5 postseason games. That makes it very doable. She has, quite honestly, put me in awe during her senior season.
