It'll be interesting to see what the off season brings our girls will improve and it'll be interesting to see how expensive the portal is and what we are willing to spend. The forward (,?) From Stanford that looked so good against us (not Brink the other gal) supposedly was worth 6 figures in the NIL world. I don't see ISU ponying up that kind of money. But I have no idea what our budget is or what we want.Still think both Jackson and Joens are more like seventh and eighth players in the rotation if this program wants to take that next step. Just too inconsistent offensively. Audi and Addy need a better supporting cast in the starting lineup.
At this very point in time, and ideally, I agree with you. AJ has been playing hurt, but even when not injured you never know when she will make a basket. No doubt that she gives 110%. Joens is still in progress. If she can become a CONSISTENT 8-10 point scorer along with her other assets then she belongs in the starting lineup. To put them 7-8 down the list means that the staff is going to have to recruit big time.Still think both Jackson and Joens are more like seventh and eighth players in the rotation if this program wants to take that next step. FIFYPoor shooting from 3 and turnovers doomed the team. If ISU wants to get better they have to get more athletic and find at least one more shooter from the outside. Crocks is a great player, but Fennelly required this team to rely on her too much.
Pass was a hair late and a hair inaccurate. Still should've made it, but Crooks didn't make it as easy as it should've been.Hansford had a really nice cut to the basket this game and the pass to her was good, but man she just couldn’t lay it in.
She has some of the defensive tendencies that the team has been lacking at times, but she’s too much an offensive liability.
One thing we can always count on is for ICCYFAN to show up...and dumb someone's comment without offering any counterpoint. We've talked about consistency from our team all season and at least he provides that. The problem with this statement is she wasn't ready early on. If you've listened to her and the coach this was a process that finally yielded what we see now. Early in the season she wasn't ready. BUT she likely could have started her path to more playing time a few games earlier than she did. The upside is she is in a good position to be a MAJOR contributor next year and the year after.
Quick counter, since nobody on the forum wants to read us bicker. In the opinion of many, possibly even most, Kelsey was ready to start from Game 1. I know her, and she was confident she'd won the starting job with her play during the summer and fall camps - she's never said she wasn't ready, as you suggest. It's to her credit she kept her chin up when she fell out of favor and barely got off the bench for a number of games - others would have lost confidence in themselves (see L. Hansford & A. Tanke). For you to blather about "the (coach's) process which yielded what we see now" is just Fennelly propaganda and minimizes what Kelsey has accomplished. One thing we can always count on is for ICCYFAN to show up...and dumb someone's comment without offering any counterpoint. I kind of thought she got pumped during the shot, but didn’t get a foul call too.Pass was a hair late and a hair inaccurate. Still should've made it, but Crooks didn't make it as easy as it should've been.
She does have good instincts and length. It's too bad she hasn't found her shooting stroke.
You comments are always very biased so it is hard for some to take them with a straight face. You are a Joens Hommer and are not a Fan of Fennelly. We all know it. Joens has been playing well. She is helping the team. I am happy she has siezed the chance when it came to her.Quick counter, since nobody on the forum wants to read us bicker. As was pointed out we know where you stand on coach. If you have been watching recent interviews he has admitted he made some errors in giving players court time. I am a big Kelsey fan and am really happy to see her getting to start and play more. What I saw was a staff that early on was trying to see what could our new players bring/give us during the season and went a little long looking. I feel we have settled into a good set of starters and know who needs to come off the bench first. It is now we wait and see where we get sent for the Big Dance and get ready for season two.
